CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off its recent loss at home to Tarleton State on Thursday, Austin Peay State University's soccer team hosts Abilene Christian on Senior Day with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m., Sunday, at Morgan Bros. Field.
Austin Peay (2-10-1, 1-3) enters Sunday's match third in the United Athletic Conference Blue Division standings after playing to a 3-1 loss to the Texans of Tarleton State on Thursday. Junior defender Lindsey Arnold led the Govs offensively, scoring her first-career goal on a header in the 60th minute. The goal cut the Texans' lead in half, but Tarleton State pulled away for a 3-1 win when it scored a 79th-minute goal to seal the match.
Abilene Christian (5-2-5, 2-0-2) has won three of its last six matches, beating North Alabama 1-0 on the road most recently on Thursday. Addison Briscoe is tied for the lead in goals scored, as she scored her sixth of the season on a penalty kick game-winner in the 20th minute of the match.
