CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off its recent loss to SIUE on Thursday, Austin Peay State University's soccer team makes its second road trip of the season to visit Chattanooga, with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m. (CT), Sunday, at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Austin Peay (0-3-0) comes into Sunday's match on a cold streak following its recent 3-0 loss to SIUE, in which the Cougars scored the game-deciding goal in the seventh minute of the match. Redshirt junior Kayla Barr led the offensive efforts for the Governors, landing her two shots taken on goal. The Govs took four more shots on target, but SIUE held its advantage and pressed on, scoring another pair of goals to come out ahead with a 3-0 win to remain unbeaten at home to start the year.
Chattanooga (1-1-1) welcomes the Governors after just recently suffering its first loss of the season to Belmont on the road. Sophomore midfielder Emma Reeves scored the first goal of the match in the 22nd minute, but late goals scored in the 66th and 78th minutes by the Bruins allowed Belmont to come away with its first win of the season.
