Despite contributing just three points during Nashville portion of OVC tournament, was key contributor to Lady Govs run… provided strong defensive effort against Morehead State star Chynna Bozeman in semifinals and Eastern Illinois freshman standout Ta’Kenya Nixon in championship game… in both contests gave foul-plagued starter Whitney Hanley relief guarding the opposition’s top offensive threats… played 21 minutes against Morehead State and 25 minutes in championship game… overall played in 27 games, including one start… played significant minutes early in season… collected career-high four steals in 23 minutes of opener against Lipscomb… started second half against Middle Tennessee, finishing with career-best 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting… also recorded three assists and two steals in contest… as a result, earned season’s only start against James Madison… continued to gain significant minutes during much of non-conference schedule but offensive numbers lagged… scored just eight points in 10-game stretch from late November to early January… nabbed four steals in Lady Govs’ OVC-opening victory against Southeast Missouri, Dec. 3… came off bench to score 10 points, going 4-of-7 from floor, against Murray State, Jan. 9, in only 15 minutes… deuces were wild against Tennessee State, Jan. 14, as she recorded two rebounds, two assists and nabbed two steals… scored only eight points during first six games of February, although she grabbed career-best seven rebounds, Feb. 18, against Jacksonville State… closed out regular-season with strong performance at Southeast Missouri, when she scored seven points on 3-of-4 shooting, including just her season’s third three pointer… that came after 9-2 SEMO run that had cut APSU’s second-half lead to single digits.
2008-09 (Sophomore)
Started eight of 31 games played… started the Lady Govs first seven games, scoring seven points in the season-opening win against Lipscomb… knocked down 3-of-4 shots in the contest… scored a career-high eight points against Troy while collecting season-best three rebounds… played 30 minutes at Miami and 34 two days later against Chicago State… started OVC opener against Southeast Missouri before moving into reserve role for the season’s remainder, except for a late-season start at Tennessee Tech… provided double-digit minutes in seven of the next 15 games… recorded season-best four assists in Lady Govs home win against UT Martin… also played 29 minutes, Feb. 14, against Tennessee State, providing 3-of-5 shooting in tallying six points… in Lady Govs key late-season win against Southeast Missouri, Warner was perfect 4-for-4 from floor in nine minutes to match season-high eight-point total… her six second-half points came during the Lady Govs regulation-ending 23-6 scoring run… in OVC tourney, she played 26 total minutes, including connecting for crucial three pointer against Murray State… in fact, that three pointer was her first since the season opener against Lipscomb.
2007-08 (Freshman)
Played in 28 games, starting final 17 contests… added to starting lineup primarily for defensive purposes… averaged just 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds per game… scored season-best five points against Tennessee Tech, Feb. 16… grabbed season-high five rebounds against Eastern Illinois, Jan. 7, including season-high three offensive rebounds… dished out season-best four assists against Jacksonville State… that outing was the start of six games in which she averaged 2.5 assists per game.
PREP CAREER
At Springs Valley High School under head coach Neil Walther, finished her career as the school’s No. 2 scorer with 1,123 career points… was named to Hoosier Basketball’s Top 40 seniors, selected from a pool of 1500 senior players in Indiana… led Springs Valley with 16.5 points per game as a senior while making 43 percent of her field-goal attempts… selected to play in the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game… a two-sport athlete, was a Class A All-State volleyball player for Springs Valley… finished with the school’s career record for digs (1,355) and the single-season record for digs (510) as a senior.
