2010-11 (JUNIOR)
Played in 31 games, starting 29, and led Lady Govs in scoring (12.2 ppg), three-point field goals made (2.0 pg), steals (1.6 pg) and assists (2.8 pg)… named second-team All-OVC after leading team with 11.3 points per game and ranking 17th among OVC scoring leaders in league play… scored nine points in season and WNIT opener at Purdue, Nov. 12, but was held to three points – on 1-of-14 field-goal shooting – in WNIT’s second game against Valparaiso, Nov. 19… finished WNIT with 16 points against Utah Valley, Nov. 20… in between WNIT rounds, scored 18 points in Lady Govs home opener against Middle Tennessee, Nov. 16… the Utah Valley contest was the first of five consecutive double-digit scoring outings, Nov. 20-Dec. 2, that included back-to-back 20-point outings… posted season-highs in points (20), rebounds (12) for season’s first double-double at SIU Edwardsville, Nov. 26… two days later scored 20 points at Southern Illinois… season’s highlight came in Lady Govs victory against Morehead State, Dec. 21, as she made two free throws with 16 seconds remaining – finishing the game with 12 points – and then blocked a three-point attempt just before the final horn to secure a 60-57 victory… that game was one of just two-double digit outings in a six-game stretch (Dec. 4-Dec.28) that saw her average 8.0 points per game… broke slump with three straight double-digit outings, including season’s second double-double – a 16-point, 12-rebound effort at Murray State, Jan. 8… but that three-game stretch was short reprieve and scoring woes returned in final five January contests, averaging 7.8 points per game as season scoring average dropped from 13.2 ppg to 12.0 ppg… scoring touch returned in time to spark Lady Govs’ February run, closing regular-season with five double-digit scoring outings in final six games, averaging 13.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game… had top three OVC scoring performances in Lady Govs’ February-opening five-game win streak… scored 18 points and 10 rebounds – her season’s third and final double-double – with five assists, three blocks and two steals against UT Martin, Feb. 2… scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds against Murray State, Feb. 5… finished three-game stretch with 17 points against Tennessee State, Feb. 12… scored14 points at Jacksonville State, Feb. 17, had two 12-point performances in OVC Tournament and averaged 10.3 points per game… opened tournament action with 12 points, six rebounds with a career-high seven assists and season high three blocks against Murray State, March 2… after being held to seven points against Eastern Illinois, bounced back with 12 points in foul-shortened outing against Tennessee Tech, March 4.
2009-10 (SOPHOMORE)
Elevated her game down the stretch on both ends of floor… averaged 15.3 points per game during OVC tournament… in first-round contest against Tennessee Tech, scored 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting while collecting three assists… also tallied five steals and two blocked shots while being matched up against Golden Eagles star Tacarra Hayes… followed that up with 6-of-7 shooting performance, including pair of three pointers, for 16 points against Morehead State in OVC semifinals… also played significant defensive role in holding OVC Player of the Year Chynna Bozeman to 8-of-27 shooting… continued strong defensive play in championship game against Eastern Illinois in helping hold OVC Freshman of the Year Ta’Keenya Nixon to 5-of-15 shooting… offensively, made just one field goal but came up big down stretch from the free-throw line, connecting on 7-of-8 free throws in game’s final 1:57… in fact, made 17-of-20 free throws during OVC tourney play… suffered foot and back injuries—the former necessitating surgery—during Summer 2009 motorcycle accident, slowing her preseason conditioning… still was able to open season as starter and scored 22 points, going 9-of-13 from field, in opener against Chattanooga… two days later failed to score against Lipscomb… the opening two games typified her inconsistent play during much of 2009-10… reached double-digits for first time since season-opener with 15 points against Northwestern State, Nov. 28, while also grabbing seven rebounds… hit three three-pointers, finishing with 15 points against Eastern Illinois… collected 13 points at UALR and led the team with eight rebounds… however, struggles recurred against Troy, failing to score… in fact, failed to start next three games, tallying 17 points off bench in three games while going just 6-of-21 from floor… returned to starting lineup as APSU returned to OVC play… scored 12 points and collected two steals as Lady Govs lost at Morehead State, Jan. 2… scored just two points against Eastern Kentucky, Jan. 4, and did not start next three games…had best shooting performance since season-opener with 6-of-11 (54.5 percent) outing off bench against Tennessee State, Jan. 14, finishing with 13 points while also collecting three assists, three steals and two blocked shots… returned to starting lineup for season’s remainder… .struggled with her shooting once returning to starting lineup, but did record five assists at Jacksonville State… began finding shooting range against Eastern Kentucky, Jan. 28, scoring 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting… added five rebounds and four steals in contest… followed that up with 14 points against Morehead State, although she made just 6-of-19 shots in the loss… did record four assists and five steals in contest while grabbing four offensive rebounds… scored 13 points at UT Martin, Jan. Feb. 4, including a trio of three pointers… followed that up with 20 points—her most since the season opener—at Murray State, going 7-of-16 from the floor… that was her last double-digit performance until season finale against Southeast Missouri… in that game, tallied 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including a trio of three pointers… also had five rebounds and dished out three assists in contest, which seemed to boost her into postseason… ended regular season with 8.2 scoring average but OVC tourney play boosted her overall scoring average up to 8.9 points per game entering NCAA action.
2008-09 (Freshman)
Started 24 games and was one of five Lady Govs to play all 33 games… averaged 8.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game… named to the OVC All-Newcomer team after being OVC Freshman of the Week on three different occasions while playing key role in Lady Govs turnaround… in fact, in 10 Lady Govs OVC wins, averaged 13.8 points per game, shooting 48 percent from the floor… in APSU’s eight OVC losses, averaged just 2.8 points per game, shooting just 22.4 percent from the floor… began the season coming off bench, albeit a third-game start against Troy when fellow freshman Emily Pollock was out with injury… she continued to come off bench until tallying back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts against Chicago State and Southeast Missouri… scored 11 points against Chicago State before going for 10 points and four steals at Southeast Missouri… in just her third career college start, scored 21 points against SIU Edwardsville, going a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line in addition to 3-for-4 from three-point territory… earned first OVC Freshman of the Week honor for that performance… after being held to eight points at Middle Tennessee, reeled off four straight double-digit scoring efforts against Alabama (12), Elon (11), North Carolina (10) and Morehead State (10)… her 11-point, eight-rebound effort against Elon earned her second OVC Freshman of the Week citation… in Jan. 3 win at home against Morehead State, collected a career-high five steals… a seven-point effort against Eastern Kentucky, broke loose at UT Martin, scoring season-high 24 points, going 9-of-12 from floor (two three pointers) while also collecting a quartet of steals… after a couple of struggling road performances, recorded back-to-back 19-point efforts against Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State… in overtime win against Tennessee Tech also grabbed six rebounds… two nights later, Hanley went 7-of-11 (two three pointers) against Jacksonville State with six more rebounds… back-to-back double-figure performances raised scoring average above 10 points per game for the first time… after an eight-point performance against Eastern Kentucky, scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting at Morehead State and 17 more at home against UT Martin… went six-of-eight from the floor against UTM, including a trio of three pointers to raise her scoring average to a season-high 10.4 ppg… but hit the “freshman wall” over the next five games, scoring just nine total points on 4-of-24 shooting… finally snapped the slump in regular-season finale against Southeast Missouri, dropping in 12 points, including a trio of three pointers in APSU’s comeback victory… continued that pace with 10 points on four-of-six shooting in first-round OVC tourney play against Morehead State… followed that up with 15-point outing, going 3-of-3 from three-point range against Murray State along with four assists, tying her season best… failed to score against Eastern Illinois in the OVC championship game… scored two points and grabbed four rebounds against Duke in NCAA Tournament contest.
PREP CAREER
At Bullitt East High School under head coach Chris Stallings, Hanley was named the 2007-08 Bullitt County “Player of the Year”… was ranked among top 25 Kentucky prospects by Rick Bolus after senior campaign… received invitation to Kentucky Senior All-Star game… played in Kentucky-Ohio all-star game, scored 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range and grabbed six rebounds in 13 minutes… scored 1,000 career points prior to the end of her junior campaign… averaged 16 points per game as a junior and was named to the All-Region 6 squad… was an all-state third-team selection in 2007 and 2008… named to All-Region 6 squad twice and was an all-district team member three times… played in the Rick Bolus High Potential Basketball Camp and was named to the all-tournament team in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Whitney Anne Hanley is the daughter of Phil and Suzanne Hanley… born June 2… has two siblings, Jake and Meredith… brother Jake played football at Cumberland and sister Meredith is a cheerleader at Bellarmine.
