Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a junior in 2013 – Was Govs starting right fielder in 53 games before hand injury forced early end to season… Batted .329 for the season with 16 doubles, three home runs and 30 RBI… Finished season ranked 26th nationally in runs per game (1.06) with 56 runs scored… Had a 16-game hit streak (March 22-April 13) and ended the season with a 14-game hit streak that started April 26… Had 22 multi-hit outings, including four three-hit affairs… Two of his home runs were game-winning shots… Hit three-run blast in fourth inning of victory against Lipscomb, April 2… His solo home run in first inning against Morehead State, May 4, was first run in wire-to-wire win… Played first two games of OVC Tournament, going 1-for-4 in opener against Eastern Kentucky before posting a 1-for-1 outing prior to leaving Tennessee Tech contest with injury.

As a sophomore in 2012 – Appeared in 60 games, starting 55… Finished season with .281 batting average and 35 RBI… Began season with only five hits in season’s first nine games… Hit go-ahead grand slam against UT Martin, March 30… Made season’s only start as pitcher against Belmont, April 3, and suffered loss after allowing one run in two innings… Had two-run home run against Murray State, April 13… Had five hits in Eastern Kentucky series, including two-run home run as part of 2-for-4, two RBI outing, April 21… Named to OVC All-Tournament team after batting .368 with seven hits and seven RBI in tourney play… Was 2-for-4 with two RBI against Jacksonville State, May 25, with game-tying RBI walk in the seventh inning… Moved into No. 6 spot in lineup for first game of championship round against Eastern Illinois, May 26, and responded with 1-for-5, two-RBI effort… Batted .214 with two RBI in NCAA Tournament’s Eugene Regional… Drove in game-winning run in 1-for-4 outing against Indiana State, June 2… Had two hits and RBI in Govs win against Cal State Fullerton, June 3.

As a freshman in 2011 – Started 53 games (41 RF, 5 CF, 4 LF, 2 DH, 1 P)… Batted .284 with 23 RBI and seven stolen bases… Named to OVC All-Freshman team after batting .211 with 10 RBI in OVC play… Had season-opening 18-game hit streak ended in OVC opener at Murray State, March 27… Reached base safely in 30 straight games, streak ending against Belmont, April 13… Was 5-for-6 in first start, Feb. 19 against Valparaiso, with two doubles… Hit first collegiate home run against South Dakota State, March 9… Went 3-for-5 against Arkansas State, March 13… Had a hit in each game of the Eastern Kentucky series, including RBI single in opener, April 9, that provided game-winning run… Received four walks in a game as part of 1-for-2 outing in Morehead State finale, May 1… Had three hits in OVC Tournament action, including 2-for-5 outing in championship game against Jacksonville State, May 28, that included a triple and two runs scored… Played in first two games of NCAA Tournament’s Atlanta Regional.

Under head coach Pete Nardello, was a left-handed pitcher and played outfield… At the plate, batted .560 with seven doubles, eight home runs and 12 stolen bases… On the mound was 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA… second team All-South Jersey selection… First-team all-conference… Selected to play on 2009 East Coast Professional Showcase.

Rolando Abdel Gautier is the son of Rolando and Sylvia Gautier and Iris Brown… Born Dec. 2… Has three sisters: Yitsili, Tiffany and Brittany… Majoring in health and human performance with an emphasis in applied exercise science.
