Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a
junior in 2010 - Ray was the most consistent arm out of the bullpen for the
Govs... made 28 appearances and compiled a 2.57 ERA over 35 innings... in his
second appearance he threw 1.2 scoreless innings against Western Kentucky,
March 2... allowed two earned runs through his first 12-plus innings... made a
season-long three shutout-inning appearance at Indiana State, March 23... picked
up season's only win at Middle Tennessee throwing 1.2 scoreless innings, with
four of five outs coming via strikeout... threw 2.1 scoreless innings against
Jacksonville State, April 17... threw 2.2 scoreless innings, to go along with two
strikeouts at Belmont, April 28... finished season strong allowing only one run
over his last 4.2 innings.
As a
sophomore transfer in 2009 - Ray made 10 relief appearances, finishing with a
1-0 record and 9.24 ERA... picked up victory in relief at Tennessee, Feb. 24,
after allowing three unearned runs in one inning... struck out two batters in one
inning against Ball State, March 1... did not allow an earned run in first four
appearances (4.2 innings)... was tagged for four runs in two innings of Govs
blowout loss against Iowa, March 8, to end scoreless streak... recovered with 1.2
scoreless innings of relief at Mississippi, March 10... saw ERA balloon in
season's final outings as he surrendered two or more runs in three of final four
appearances, including season's final outing at Western Kentucky, April 28.

As a
freshman in 2008 - A non-scholarship player, Ray made two starts for the Bisons
and pitched 3.1 innings... went 3.1 innings in start at Evansville, March 3,
giving up one run in each inning pitched and striking out four... started against
Middle Tennessee, April 8, but did not retire a batter.

Dylan Ray is the son of Jeff and Marcia Ray... born Oct. 16... has two
older sisters, Casi (26) and Jessi (24)... majoring in business... prepped at Friendship Christian High School.
