As a junior transfer in 2011 – Cox made 15 appearances this season, including 11 relief appearances, and compiled an 0-3 record and 10.16 ERA… was losing pitcher in Govs extra-inning loss at Mississippi, March 1, allowing one run on one walk in 0.1 innings… tossed three scoreless innings against South Dakota State, March 9… allowed three runs in 0.1 innings at Arkansas State, March 12… allowed two runs in 1.2 innings against Middle Tennessee, March 30… made season’s first start at Middle Tennessee, April 6, laboring through four-plus innings and allowing four runs despite surrendering nine hits and six walks… suffered season’s second loss in start against Western Kentucky, April 12, allowing 11 runs over four innings… allowed six earned runs on 12 hits, but did not factor into decision against Lipscomb, April 19… set table for Govs’ Game 2 comeback win at Morehead State with 2.2 scoreless relief  innings in which he allowed one hit and struck out two… suffered through rough start at Evansville, May 11, allowing six runs in 1.1 innings… retired two of five batters faced in relief outing at Lipscomb, May 17, surrendering two runs… threw three scoreless innings – retiring nine of the 10 batters he faced – against Mississippi State in NCAA Tournament’s Atlanta Regional, June 4, allowing one hit and striking out two.

Under head coach Rick Pederson, posted a 7-6 record on the mound, with a 5.20 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 81.1 innings as a junior… finished with a 4-3 record as a sophomore, to go along with 31 strikeouts over 46 innings pitched… was an all-region selection his sophomore year.
