Biography

Looking Ahead to 2009-10: Govs’ most improved player from a year ago returns in middle…if improvement continues could challenge for post-season honors…became one of league’s foremost rebounders in 2009-10, using previous spring trip to China with Global Partners Association to springboard campaign…used offseason to refine offensive game, especially in post…has continued to add bulk and strength to lanky frame with vigorous offseason conditioning program…considered tremendously hard worker...owns wide frame with surprising upper-body strength...uses long arms and leaping ability to retrieve ball off glass...has worked to improve his lower-body strength...been compared to former Govs' start Josh Lewis because of frame and rebounding ability...considered coachable young player who has desire to improve.

As a sophomore in 2009-10: Moved into starting lineup from season’s outset and started all but one contest…his 7.8 rebounds per game were second in the OVC while his 52 percent field-goal shooting also ranked second…averaged 8.8 rebounds per game during league play…got off to slow start offensively but became force on boards and defensive end…grabbed then career-high 12 rebounds, including seven offensive grabs against IUPUI, in season’s third game and first in Daytona…enjoyed career’s best performance against Niagara, recorded career’s first double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds), with 16 points representing career high…connected on 7-of-14 field goals…scored 12 points on 5-of-7 field-goal shooting against SEMO…recorded second career double-double, 13 points and 11 rebounds, against EIU…also completed career-high 7-of-8 free throws…knocked down a pair of game-winning free throws with 0.8 seconds left to defeat Ohio, finishing with 12 points and eight rebounds…recorded third career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds vs. Marian (Ind.)…three-game stretch found him 15-17 at free-throw line….made 5-of-6 field goals and 3-of-4 free throws for 13 points at No. 3 Kentucky…scored 11 of his points in the first half…tallied 14 points, including a career-high eight free throws, to go along with his second-straight game of three blocked shots against Evansville…saw double-figure scoring streak end at six vs. Missouri, although he did grab nine rebounds…fashioned 10 points and seven rebounds at Morehead State…backed that up with 11 points at Eastern Kentucky and at home against Eastern Kentucky…made it 10 games out of 11 for double-figure scoring at Murray State, finished with 10 points and five rebounds in only 15 minutes before fouling out…made it five straight games in double figures with 11 points to go with nine rebounds against Tennessee State…endured four straight games without scoring double figures but did average 10 rebounds over stretch, including a then career-high 14 at home against Eastern Kentucky…bounced back from a three-point, five-rebound foul-plagued performance against Morehead State to register his fourth career double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds at UT Martin…fifth career double-double came at Tennessee State with 15 points and career-high 18 rebounds, making him first Gov since Drake Reed (2/5/09 vs. UT Martin) to pull 18 boards…scored seven points (7-9 FTs) and grabbed 11 rebounds in home win against Tennessee Tech…sixth career double-double came against Oral Roberts with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while blocking career-best four shots…Chalked up seventh double-double, 10 points and 12 rebounds, at SEMO in season-finale, playing career-high 40 minutes…garnered 10 points and pulled down five rebounds in OVC tourney first-round game...averaged 10.6 rebounds per game over season's final 10 contests.

As a redshirt freshman in 2008-09: Improved steadily during first campaign...grabbed three or more rebounds nine times...got off to slow start, playing sparingly in season's early stages...collected first career rebound in opener against Evansville...grabbed three rebounds, including two offensive, against Ohio...scored career's first basket on offensive rebound and a putback at SEMO in early December...celebrated 21st birthday with six points and seven rebounds against Oakland City in 2008's final game...on Jan. 22, scored six points on perfect three-of-three shooting against Tennessee Tech...two nights later played 20 minutes against Jacksonville State, scoring five points and snaring seven rebounds while blocking two shots...scored career-high eight points, including four-of-five at free-throw line at Morehead State...played career-high 26 minutes at Jacksonville State, finishing with six points, five rebounds and two steals...played 22 minutes at home against Eastern Illinois, finishing with four points and seven rebounds, including four offensive boards...after successive strong off-the-bench performances, made first career start against Southeast Missouri...narrowly missed double-double, matching career high with eight points while setting career-best with 10 rebounds in 25 minutes...also started first-round OVC tourney game against Eastern Illinois, playing 19 minutes...wrapped up season by playing 12 minutes against Bradley, grabbing three rebounds and recording two steals.

As a freshman in 2007-08: Redshirted in first season as Governor...used redshirt season to increase strength in weight room along with improving stamina...also worked on improving basketball skills, especially around the basket...he and fellow redshirt Marcel Williams spent many hours in gym working on elevating respective abilities.

In high school:  Averaged 23 points and 14 rebounds per game for Heritage Christian Academy in Hopkinsville, Ky... led Heritage Christian to a 23-4 overall record, including KCAA Region 1 championship....scored 42 points and snared 28 rebounds in the KCAA All-Star game...selected Kentucky Christian Athletic Association’s “Mr. Basketball” as a senior as well as earning KCAA All-State honors....

Personal:  Health care management major… son of Doug and Michelle Fraley… born Dec. 29, 1987… age 22....turns 23 one day after Govs play Brescia.
