Biography

As a junior in 2014-15: Govs’ leading scorer as junior, averaging 13.1 ppg…reached 1,000-point club late in season at UT Martin…tallied 15 double-doubles during season and 20 double-digit rebounding efforts…not only led the OVC but left him eighth in nation…became first Gov since Tommy Brown (11.9 rpg/1990-91) to average double-digit rebounds…also became first Govs to average double-double (13.1 ppg, 11.1) since Brown in 1990-91…his 262 career blocked shots rank him first all-time in Govs history and second in OVC history…opened season with 15 points and four blocks at Western Kentucky, Nov. 15, to kick off the season…recorded first triple-double by a Gov since 2001 with 15-point, 13-rebound, 10-block effort against Berea, Nov. 16…recorded double-double at Samford, Nov. 19, with 22 points, tying career high with 10 field goals made, and 12 rebounds…notched season’s third double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds (six offensive) against Stephen F. Austin, Nov. 28, in Las Vegas…made it back-to-back double-doubles with 15-point, 13-board performance at Southern Illinois, Dec . 6…tallied 11 points and 13 boards, leading Govs to victory against Troy, Dec. 15…had 13 points and 14 boards against Oakland City, Dec. 18…authored another double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) to go along with team-high four assists in win against NCAA-bound North Florida, Dec. 31…after being held without field goal against Ole Miss, bounced back with a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double Jan. 8 against Jacksonville State, including eight offensive rebounds…enjoyed one of season’s finest performances against Belmont, Jan. 17, with a career-high 23 points, going 8-of-12 from the floorl, and 12 rebounds…monstrous 15-point, 16-rebound night earned him season’s 10th double-double at SIU Edwardsville, Jan. 22…made it three straight double-doubles with 12-point, 12-board performance at Eastern Illinois, Jan. 24…had 23-point, 11-board outing against Morehead State, Jan. 28, for fourth straight double-double, buoyed by career-best 15-for-20 from free-throw line…15 free throws made were most by a Gov since Derek Wright had 16 against Southeast Missouri in 2008…matched career best with 23 points and tied then career-best 18 rebounds in home loss to Southeast Missouri, Jan. 31…the five straight double-doubles was longest streak in APSU history…streak came to end with 14 points and nine-rebounds at home against UT Martin…scored 16 points and grabbed 15 boards against Murray State, Feb. 7, putting him past the 750-rebound mark…snared 20 rebounds in home finale Feb. 26 against SIUE, becoming first Gov with 20 single-game rebounds since Ty Beck had 22 vs. UT Martin, Feb. 5, 1994.

As a sophomore in 2013-14: Played in all 30 games, starting all but one in second Govs season… finished second on team in scoring, averaging 13.2 ppg….scored in double figures 22 times, including six with 20 points or more...had stretch of nine straight double-figure scoring outings and 11 of 12...led the Govs in scoring in eight games, scoring season-high 23 points twice against Montana State (Nov. 23) and East Tennessee State (Dec. 21), both games going 10-of-14 from the floor… had 13 double-doubles in the 2013-14 season with 16 rebounds and 20 points against UT Martin (March  1)…had 13 games where he shot 70 percent or better from the floor, including a 5-of-5 effort against Tennessee Tech...twice went 9-of-11 from field against Murray State (Jan. 31)  and UT Martin (March 1)...grabbed career-best 17 rebounds in season opener against Oakland City…finished season with career's second best rebounding effort (16) against UT Martin...after setting a single-season school record with 100 blocks as a freshman, led the team and OVC with 92 blocks averaging 3.1 per game…had 12 games with four or more blocked shots...set school record with eight blocks  against Ut Martin (Jan. 2)...also had seven against Southern Illinois (Nov. 19)...led team in rebounds with 285, third most in the OVC… led the team in rebounding in 26 out of the 30 games… scored 10 points or more in 22 games with six of those games with 20 or more points in 2013-14… had 16 games with 10 or more rebounds…ranked in Top 30 in multiple NCAA Division I rankings--59.5 field-goal percentage (11th), 3.07 blocks per game (12th),  9.5 rebounds per game (25th), 92 total blocked shots (21st) and 13 double-doubles (27th)...played nearly six more minutes per game (30.6) as a sophomore than in his first Govs season while commiting fewer fouls...played 35 or more minutes eight times during season....also cut turnovers (61 to 36) almost in half while playing more minutes.  

In 2012-13 as freshman: Earned OVC Freshman of the Year honors after averaging 8.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game...became first OVC player to record 100 single-season blocks since 1996-97...shattered Josh Lewis’ 2003-04 single-season record (83) and moving into seventh all-time with 100 blocks in his first season...named OVC Freshman of Week nine times during season, including five straight...scored double figures 13 times...grabbed double-figure rebounds in nine games...tallied six double-doubles...recorded first in season's second game with 12 points and 10 boards against Western Kentucky... He averaged 8.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and shot 54 percent from the floor as a freshman...blocked 4 shots while altering several others in win against Western Carolina in first Mexico game...blocked 4 more shots against Gardner-Webb while notching his second double-figure scoring game with 10 points...chosen to Mayan Division All-tournament team as well as being named OVC Freshman of the Week for second straight week for his efforts...tallied 15 points against Berea...scored nine points on 4-of-5 field goals while grabbing team-high 9 rebounds and blocking 3 against Fairfield...scored season-high 21 points, including 5 dunks, while grabbing 11 rebounds versus Oakland City, making it his season’s second double-double...connected on 10 of 12 field goals, including his first six attempts...also had 5 blocks...streak of eight straight games with at least two blocks came to an end against Memphis...tallied eight points and grabbed seven rebounds in limited action due to foul trouble against the Tigers...became first player since EKU’s Matt Witt (2002-03) to earn four straight OVC Freshman of the Week honors....sared his fifth straight Freshman of the Week honor after a 10-point, 13-rebound, four-block effort at Arkansas State...also had three steals and two assists in game....foul-plagued against Lipscomb, but still scored 12 points and netted six blocks...held without a block for first time in his career, but had a career-high five assists at Illinois State...finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and six blocks against High Point...swatted a career-high seven shots and grabbed 10 rebounds at UT Martin....duplicated that block number against SIU Edwardsville, posting a six-point, six-rebound, seven-block evening...posted fourth double-double effort at Jacksonville State, with 18 points and 10 rebounds...second double-double in three games came at Murray State in 11-point, 10-rebound affair that included six blocks...had fourth double-digit rebounding performance in six games - and his seventh double-double as a freshman - with a 14-point, 10-board game at Eastern Illinois...set single-season blocks record with his 84th at SIU Edwardsville, while also recording eighth double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds)....awarded five blocks at Libery...had 12 points against SEMO before finishing freshman season with 10-point, 7-rebound,7-block record against UT Martin...seven blocks game him exactly 100 on season...
