Biography

As a junior in 2013-14: Played in 25 games at point guard for the Govs in 2013-14, missing five February games after suffering severe ankle sprain against Tennessee State … shot 50 percent (69 for 138) from the field and 32.4 percent (12 for 37) beyond the arc… led the team in assists with 139 and was second with 32 steals… had four games  with 10 or more assists…tallied 10 against Youngstown State (Nov. 30) in Govs’ first road win…also had 12 in home win against Liberty (Dec. 14)…matched that number with 12 in home victory against Dalton State (Dec. 30)…tallied 10 assists in home win against Southeast Missouri… had eight games with 11 or more points… scored 16 points in win against Montana State, including seven free throws…also had team-high nine rebounds to go with six assists that…recorded 12 points, eight assists and six rebounds against Lipscomb (Dec. 19)…scored 11 points at SIUE…had a season-high 18 points and nine assists in home win against Tennessee Tech (Jan. 25)…finished 14 points, seven assists and six rebounds against Murray State (Jan. 31)…had five assists against Tennessee before suffering ankle injury…played in just three games seasons’ remainder.

Junior College: Played one season at Vincennes Junior College under former Govs’ graduate assistant Todd Franklin… averaged 3.3 points per game but was second on the team in assists (3.8 apg) for a Vincennes team that finished fourth nationally in the juco national tourney…tallied nine assists in Vincennes’ second-round win against Howard at the national tourney.

At Lipscomb: Redshirted in 2010-11...as redshirt freshman in 2011-12, he averaged 5.2 ppg while starting 19 of 29 contests...shot 45 percent from the floor while averaging 3.4 apg, second on the team....scored in double figures four times, with a season-high 14 points against Stetson plus 11 in road win at Belmont in early 2012...also had four games with eight or more assists, including the Bisons home win against Austin Peay, Dec. 28, 2011.

High School: Averaged 22 points, eight assists, six rebounds and three steals per game as a senior for John Stigall at Kenwood High School, leading the team to an 18-9 record…selected to play in the Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee All-Star game…1,000-point career scorer for the Knights…named to the All-District 10-AAA team and to Clarksville Leaf Chronicle All-Area first team as senior…also was McDonald’s All-American nominee as a senior.

Personal: Business management major…son of Anique Smith…brother Amius was All-OVC defensive back for Govs from 2008-11…uncle Theo Ratliff had a longtime NBA career…born Jan. 29. 1991…age 22.
