Expected to fortify depth and toughness at point guard position...will contend with holdovers Zavion Williams and Jeremy Purvis for playing time...extremely strong, which aids him both on offensive and defensive ends...considered hard-hosed defender who also can finish on offensive end...developing perimeter game.

Junior College: Despite pair of knee injuries, including torn meniscus, helped lead Mineral Area Community College to national junior college tournament and 26-8 mark in 2013-14......averaged 4.9 points and 4.0 assists as sophomore...as freshman, averaged 7.1 points, 4.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game, earning all-league honors...also selected to academic all-conference team.

High School: Played guard for Jim Vaughn at Kennett High School...as prep senior at Kennett, averaged 14.1 points, 5.5 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 3.0 steals...was a two-time Missouri All-State selection and was named Bootheel Conference Player of the Year...also was a three-time all-district selection and was named by MoSports.com as one of the state’s top rising seniors for 2011...two-time member of Jonesboro Classic All-Tournament team...also chosen to Bloomfield Christmas tourney team...two-time BA All-Star game starter.

Personal: Interdisciplinary studies major with health and physical education concentrations...son of Fred Garmon Sr. and Donna Jones...brother Dontavious also played at Mineral Area before transferring to Henderson State...born April 29, 1993...age 20.
