Biography

As a junior in 2011-12: Opened season as starting point guard...started first eight games and 12 of the first 13...dished out five assists and scored 11 points in Govs opener at MTSU...held scoreless but dish out three assists vs. Cal...after being held without field goal for two straight games, scored season-best 17 pts vs. Bowling Green. Also made first two three-point field goals...game after scoring season-high point total, held scoreless against George Washington, but did make it five straight games with three or more assists...tallied third double-digit effort with 10 points versus Detroit...also dished out four assists...connected on seven of eight free throws against MTSU...tallied four assists for fifth straight game in loss at Lipscomb...after starting first eight games, came off bench against Memphis....returned to starting lineup versus Arkansas State, scoring 12 points and matching season-best with five assists...scored nine points and tallied four assists against Tennessee in Govs upset...recorded season’s fifth
double-figure scoring game with 12 against Belmont in home loss...came off bench at EKU...scored nine points, made six-of-eight free throws...held scoreless for the first time since Nov. 21 at Morehead State, Dec. 31...after being held scoreless at Morehead State, tallied 11 points vs. Murray State...made four-for-four against Jacksonville State, including included two with eight seconds left to extend Govs lead....also connected key jumper with 22 seconds left...notched a career-best seven assists at SIUE, while also scoring 12 points...made four-of-four free throws, increasing his streak to 15 straight made free throws...scored career-high 18 points on three-of-three fi eld goals and 12 of 14 free throws at EIU in second straight road victory., including 8-of-10 in final four minutes...chosen OVC co-Newcomer of Week for his combined efforts against SIUE and EIU...failed to score double figures season's remainder...finished with nine points, three assists and two steals in home win versus UT Martin... also had zero turnovers in 28 minutes...also had five assists and four steals in home loss to Tennessee Tech...came off bench in four of fi nal five games...after averaging 7.9 points and 3.4 assists per game in first 20 games, slumped to 3.2 points and 1.5 assists per game over final 12 games.

In junior college in 2010-11: As a sophomore for Chris Mowry at Santa Fe College, averaged 13.5 points per game, shooting 53 percent from the floor, along with 4.2 assists and 1.9 steals in his one season with Santa Fe...named as team MVP as well as being selected to All Mid-Florida first-team.
As a redshirt freshman in 2009-10 at Southern Miss: Played in four games, scoring two points...elected to leave program and returned to Florida.

As a freshman in 2008-09 at Southern Miss: Appeared in just three games after breaking bones in both feet ...broke bone in left foot in season's first practice...as a result, missed season's first nine games after breaking a bone in his left foot ... saw first action of the season against McNeese State, recording two rebounds and an assist in four minutes ... scored first career points versus Spring Hill, connecting on only shot and only free throw ...suffered broken bone in right foot after playing three games and was granted medical redshirt.

In high school: Three-year starting point guard for Daryl Lauderdale at Orange Park...as a prep senior was named Florida Times Union First Coast Player of the Year....led Orange Park to a 70-15 record over a three-year span...finished high school as OPHS's all-time leader in assists and steals...also earned All-State, All-County, and All-District honors his senior season...averaged team-high 18.5 points per game as a senior and scored in double figures 28 of team's 30 games...also led the team in assists, steals, and free throw percentage...selected Class 6A All-State First Team by the Florida Sports Writer's Association.

Personal: Psychology major...son of Jackie and Randy Lyons...born Nov. 20, 1988...age 22...will turn 23 day after Govs play Oral Roberts.
