Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a junior in 2013 – Made 22 appearances, including 10 starts during season… Notched 5-2 record for second consecutive season with 5.76 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 59.1 innings… Began season and made first five appearances out of the bullpen, picking up wins in consecutive outings against Illinois State, Feb. 24, and Southern Illinois, Feb. 26… Season’s first start came two weeks later against Indiana State, March 12, and he went 3.1 innings allowing three runs in no-decision… Appeared in weekend rotation for first time at Murray State, March 30, and picked up win but suffered a loss then an early exit in next two weekend outings… Battled back and returned to weekend rotation for good against Morehead State, May 5, striking out career-high nine batters in six innings en route to win… Struck out eight in seven scoreless innings at UT Martin, May 12, for season’s final victory… Started OVC championship game against Eastern Kentucky, May 25, and had wild outing with three runs on three hits and six walks while striking out three in 3.2 innings… Returned to mound in NCAA Bloomington Regional contest against Valparaiso,  June 2, and allowed four runs in 5.1 innings but did not factor into decision.

As a sophomore transfer in 2012 – Appeared in 16 games, starting 12 contests, but missed significant time in May due to injury and illness… Finished season with 5-2 record and 4.63 ERA with 58 strikeouts in 83.2 innings pitched… Began season with seven consecutive quality starts… Recorded first collegiate victory after allowing one run over six innings against Youngstown State, March 2… Struck out eight batters in a season-long 8.0 inning outing against Northern Illinois, March 9, but earned no decision… Struggled through OVC opener at Southeast Missouri, March 23, surrendering three runs on six hits and four walks, but picked up season’s second win… Recorded season’s third win against UT Martin, March 30, holding Skyhawks to two first-inning runs while striking out a career high nine batters over 7.1 innings…  After three subpar outings, bounced back with season’s eighth quality start at SIU Edwardsville, May 5, allowing two sixth-inning runs in a six-hit, seven-inning outing… Missed next two weeks for precautionary reasons… Appeared in relief, his first outing since May 5, in regular-season finale at Tennessee Tech and threw a scoreless seventh inning, striking out one… Did not pitch during OVC Tournament due to illness… Appeared twice in relief at NCAA Eugene Regional… Threw 1.1 innings of scoreless relief against Indiana State, June 2, striking out one… Surrendered two runs over one inning of relief at Oregon, June 3.

Career Recap: Rend Lake HS
Under head coach Tony Etnier, posted a 5-2 record as a redshirt freshman with 4.14 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 41.1 innings pitched… Redshirted in 2010.

Career Recap: Mt. Vernon Township HS
Under head coach Tim Holloway was a pitcher and played shortstop… As a senior compiled a 4.06 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 20.2 innings pitched, mostly as a reliever… At the plate, he batted .346 with a .467 on-base percentage aided by 24 walks… A three-sport athlete he was a conference “Most Valuable Player” in soccer and was a starter on the basketball team.
