Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a junior in 2013 – Made 13 appearances, including five OVC outings, all in relief … Finished season with 2.65 ERA, held opponents to team-best .155 batting average and struck out 13 over 17 innings… Began season with 9.1 consecutive scoreless innings spanning first six outings… Surrendered season’s first run at Southern Illinois, April 10, and suffered a loss in season’s only decision… Appeared in OVC tournament opener against Eastern Kentucky, May 23, and allowed one run and struck out one in one inning of work… Threw 3.1 scoreless innings and struck out three batters in NCAA Bloomington Regional second-round contest at Indiana, June 1.

As a sophomore in 2012 – Belew missed the 2012 season due to an upper body injury.

As a redshirt freshman in 2011 – Made five starts and nine relief appearances… Compiled 2-3 record and 6.51 ERA… Started against Valparaiso, Feb. 20, and notched first career victory after allowing three runs on four hits and striking out five in five innings… Suffered loss at Mississippi, March 2, after allowing eight runs over two-plus innings… Left with no decision against South Dakota State, March 8, after striking out career-high seven batters over six innings and allowing two runs… Made season’s first relief appearance against Middle Tennessee, March 30, allowing two runs over 2.1 innings… Picked up victory at Lipscomb, May 17, with 1.1 innings of scoreless relief… Threw one inning of scoreless relief against Georgia Tech in final game of NCAA Atlanta Regional, June 5, striking out one and not allowing a hit.

As a freshman redshirt in 2010 – Belew missed the 2010 season due to Tommy John elbow surgery.

Career Recap: Fort Zumwalt West
Compiled a 10-11 record and 5.46 ERA during prep career with 121 strikeouts in 115.1 innings pitched… As a senior, posted a 2-2 record and 3.71 ERA in seven appearances with 39 strikeouts in 28.1 innings… Was 3-2 with 4.53 ERA in seven appearances as a junior with 37 strikeouts in 29.1 innings… Prepped under under head coach Mike Rimmer… During summer prior to senior season, posted a 15-1 record with a 1.38 ERA and 136 strikeouts in 95 innings with the St.Louis Pirates – a wood bat league squad coached by former Govs outfielder Rick Strickland.

Alex Michael Belew is the son of Jill and Doug Belew… Born Aug. 23… Has three siblings: Ross, Connor and Allison… Majoring in business with a management emphasis and communication arts minor.
