Lykins made 10 relief appearances, going 2-0 with 5.14 ERA... regular-season’s lone victory came against then-No. 13 Mississippi State as he allowed one run on three hits and four walks over middle 3.1 innings... made season’s longest appearance, March 27, at Middle Tennessee, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out four over 4.1 innings... became first Govs pitcher to record a NCAA Tournament victory... came to mound against Memphis after 3½-hour rain delay and threw 4.2 innings allowing four runs on nine hits as Govs broke open the game behind him en route to 18-7 victory.
As a junior in 2006 ? Used as a middle reliever after starting four games early in the season... had his season’s best game, throwing three innings of relief, allowing one hit and no runs while striking out a career-high six against Freed-Hardeman, March 23... got his season’s fourth start against No. 16 Vanderbilt, April 5, allowing two runs on five hits in 3.1 innings of work... came in as a relief picture against Belmont, April 26, throwing three scoreless innings and allowing three hits while striking out two.
As a sophomore in 2005 ? Lykins was a midweek starter, compiling a 2-1 record and 7.21 ERA in 15 appearances and nine starts... earned first collegiate victory at Lipscomb, March 15... season’s second victory came against Belmont, May 11, a game in which he struck out a career-high seven batters... season’s best start came in no-decision effort at Memphis, April 13, when he allowed just three runs in five innings while striking out five... went a career-high seven innings against Georgia State, April 19, walking six and striking out six before being lifted in earning no decision.
