Gilboy played in 39 games, starting 27 games (15 in left field, nine at designated-hitter and three at first base... finished the season hitting .247, with three doubles, six RBI and 12 walks in 93 at-bats... in his first 13 games, Gilboy was 12-for-42 with a double and four RBI... had six multi-hit games, including two three-hit games... went 2-for-4 with three RBI against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, March 11, and followed that with another 2-for-4 effort against Indiana State... started five of the last eight games, recording three hits against Eastern Kentucky, May 19, and went 2-for-2 with an RBI against Samford, May 24, in the OVC Tournament... pinch hit in Govs rout of Memphis during Nashville Regional.
As a freshman in 2006 ? Had one of the most successful freshman seasons in Bat Govs history... played in 56 games, starting 49... was the Govs primary utility man, making 23 starts at second base, 16 as the team’s designated hitter, six at first base and four at third... was named to the 2006 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American team as selected by Collegiate Baseball... also was the first Govs player named to first-team All-OVC as a freshman since A.J. Ellis in 2000... picked up OVC all-freshman team honors as well... finished the 2006 season leading the Govs with a .366 batting average, tops among OVC freshman and sixth among conference hitters... led the Govs and ranked among the top-10 in the conference in slugging percentage (.526, 8th) and runs battled in per game (0.96, 3rd)... Gilboy finished the season as the school-record holder for RBI (54) as a freshman, his 71 hits finishing among in the single-season top-10 for any Govs player... had his season’s best game against Belmont, April 26, going 4-for-5, with six RBI, while scoring twice... finished the year on a tear, going 5-for-9 with three RBI in the O’Reilly/OVC Tournament.

Under head coach Scott Molbeck, was an outfielder converted to shortstop in 2004, finishing the year with a .451 batting average and 22 RBI, including six home runs and a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen bases during a 14-game season... named first-team all-conference and first-team all-county... played for the Racine Hurricanes U17 team where he hit .460 with 45 RBI, 10 home runs and 18 stolen bases... was named MVP of the Illinois Legion Baseball Tournament, leading his team to victory by batting .700 (14-20) with two home runs and 16 RBI... a two-sport performer, Gilboy was first-team all-state in volleyball in 2004 as well as an all-state honorable mention selection in 2003.
