Biography
2009: Played and started in all games in the midfield... one of three Lady Govs to start every game (Jazzmine Chandler and Sara Kluttz are the others)... led the team with 1708 minutes played... also scored one goal on 26 shots... strong leg used for midfield free kicks... Sept. 4 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, had a season-high four shots, including two on goal... Sept. 20 at Chattanooga, scored off a deflection in the 76th minute... Oct. 2 at Southeast Missouri, had one shot on goal and worked the full 110 minutes in the scoreless tie... Oct. 4 at Eastern Illinois, sat for 10 minutes in second half for season's only break.
2008: Played in 18 games, starting 17, as a midfielder... played the second-most minutes (1526) last season by a returner... in fact, played 13 complete games throughout the season... finished with 21 shots, 10 on goal, for a .476 shots-on-goal percentage... also recorded one assist – Oct. 12 vs. VMI, on an Ashley Beck goal... Aug. 29 at Alabama A&M, missed her only penalty-kick attempt... had at least three shots in three games.
2007: Northrup played in 16 games and started 13... finished the season with one goal, one assist, 24 shots and 11 shots-on-goal... Sept. 14 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, netted her season’s only goal in the 85th minute... went on to add an assist on Jessica Hosse’s goal less than one minute later.
High School: Lettered in volleyball, basketball, field hockey and soccer... was a two-time team “Most Valuable Player” in volleyball and basketball... in 2004 and 2005, Northrup was named soccer MVP and also was tabbed “Senior Female Athlete of the Year in 2006... played on the regional all-star team in 2001-02 and was a member of Team Ontario, winning the 2003 Ontario Soccer Association championship.
Personal: Daughter of Rick and Maggie Northrup... born June 24, 1989... majoring in health and human performance, specializing in education... Named to Athletics Director's Honor Roll and Dean's List every semester; also named to the President's List three times and the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll each year. Also nominated for CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America as a junior.
