Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a senior in 2017

  • Made 19 appearances, nine starts, finishing with a 4-4 record and 28 strikeouts in 53.0 innings pitched.
  • Made four OVC starts and 11 appearances total, finishing league campaign with 17 strikeouts in 29 innings pitched and accumulating a 1-3 record.
  • Finished season with a flourish, tossing seven scoreless innings spanning his final three outings of campaign and limiting opponents to four hits in that stretch.
  • Tossed four shutout innings, striking out three batters and allowing only one hit, to secure win against UT Martin in OVC tournament elimination game, May 23.
  • Picked up season’s third win with 1.1 innings of scoreless relief at Notre Dame, May 14.
  • Notched wins in back-to-back starts: March 4 against Mercer and March 10 against Jacksonville State.
  • Season’s best start was in win against Jacksonville State as he held the Gamecocks to one run over seven innings, striking out five batters. Retired 19 consecutive batters at one point in the contest.

As a junior in 2016

  • Appeared in 17 games and made 12 starts while compiling a 7-2 record, 3.96 ERA and striking out 50 batters in 75.0 innings pitched.
  • In seven league starts, posted a 4-1 record and 4.65 ERA and amassed a 29:9 strikeout-to-walk ratio that was best among Govs starters.
  • Season’s first four appearances came out of the bullpen and was 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in those outings.
  • After injury to Josh Rye at Mercer, March 5, moved into midweek starter’s roll and picked up season’s first win, March 16, against Northern Illinois.
  • Won all three outings as Govs midweek starter, posting 3-0 mark and 1.29 ERA in wins against Northern Illinois, Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois.
  • Moved into weekend rotation at Tennessee Tech, April 3, and went 4.2 innings but did not factor into the decision.
  • After a loss to league champion Southeast Missouri, April 10, won next four starts with road wins at Belmont and Morehead State and home wins against Eastern Kentucky and UT Martin. Posted a 3.00 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 24 innings during the winning streak.
  • Appeared twice in OVC Baseball Championship. Started game against Jacksonville State, May 26, and allowed three runs in three inning before game was suspended for night. Appeared in relief against Belmont, May 28, and tossed 4.1 scoreless innings to help maintain 3-3 tie.

As a sophomore in 2015

  • Compiled a 5-1 record in 14 appearances (10 starts) with a 5.74 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 53.1 innings pitched.
  • Moved into midweek starter’s role after April 12 start against Belmont, picking up season’s final win against Southern Illinois, April 15, after allowing two earned runs in five innings with no walks.
  • Notched second OVC win against Tennessee Tech, allowing three earned runs in 5.2 innings.
  • Won season’s first three starts, including in back-to-back quality starts against Western Michigan (March 1) and Eastern Illinois (March 8).

As a freshman in 2014

  • Had 48.1 innings pitched in 24 appearances, includes 10 starts for the Govs, and also started five OVC games with 25 innings pitched.
  • Started APSU’s finale at SIUE, May 17, allowing one run and striking out four over four innings.
  • Went two scoreless innings and three strikeouts against Memphis, April 9.
  • Suffered loss in season’s longest outing against Murray State, March 31, starting and allowing eight runs (three earned) on eight hits in six innings.
  • Pitched 4.1 innings with one earned run and four strikeouts against Jacksonville State, March 22.
  • Tossed 3.2 innings only giving up one earned run with five strikeouts against Akron, March 7.

Career Recap: Milan HS

  • Finished prep career with 32-4 record and 2.10 ERA on the mound.
  • Was an all-district and all-district tournament pick each of his four seasons.
  • First-Team All-Class AA selection by Tennessee Sports Writers Association and Second Team Tennessee Baseball Report All-State honoree as a senior.
  • 2013 Rawlings Perfect Game Southeast Region honorable mention selection.
  • Played under head coach Scott Paterson.
