At Austin Peay: As a junior, Bacon finished the season ranked among OVC top 10 in three-point field goals made (4th, 1.93) and three-point field goal percentage (8th, .364)... also ranked among the top 10 in both categories in conference play only: fourth in three-point field goals made (2.05) and ninth in three-point field goal percentage (.368)... made a three-point field goal in season’s final 15 games... opened 2006-07 campaign with team-high 20 points at Chattanooga, Nov. 10... did not reach the 20-point plateau again until scoring a career-high tying 23 points against Tennessee State, Jan. 12... scored another 21 points at Tennessee State, Feb. 3... grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds as part of her first career double-double against Eastern Illinois, Feb. 8... closed season on a tear, averaging a team-best 14.3 points per game in final 10 contests, making 42.9 percent (51-of-119) of her field goal attempts, 38.7 percent (24-of-62) of her three-point field goal attempts and 89.5 percent (17-of-19) of her free-throw attempts
As a sophomore, Bacon played in all 28 games, including 16 starts... among OVC players, ranked fourth in three-point field goals made per game (2.04) and three-point field goal percentage (.377)... opened season making just 10-of-45 (.222) of her three-point field goals prior to the Christmas break... after the break, made 70-of-169 (.414) of her attempts... made three or more three-point field goals in eight of the 19 games after the break... Lady Govs were 3-0 when she led the team in scoring... set personal scoring mark twice in one week, scoring 19 points against Winthrop, Dec. 30, followed by 22-point performance against Jacksonville State, Jan. 5... reset her scoring mark with a 23-point effort against Tennessee State, Feb. 4.
As a freshman, Bacon missed the season’s first four games due to an injury and then played sparingly... scored eight points against Tennessee State, Jan. 27, making all three field goal attempts, including a three-point field goal, and went 1-for-2 at the free-throw line.
At Millington Central HS: Under head coach Patrick Swanson, Bacon was named to Memphis Commerical-Appeal’s Class AAA 2003-04 Best of Preps/All-Metro Team... 2004 Associated Press honorable mention All-State... was the leading scorer in District 14-AAA in 2002-03, averaging 16.5 points a game while leading Millington Central to a 21-10 mark... selected candidate for 2004 Shelby Suburban Athlete of the Year... joined former Millington Central teammate Alicia Watson. |
