Biography
As a junior in 2014-15: Playing off-guard and small forward positions led Govs in total assists (77) and in assists per game (2.57) in first APSU season...finished season third in team scoring, averaging 9.8 points per game...led Govs in assists 16 times during season. including season-high eight at Samford..also had five in loss to Morehead State...scored in double figures 13 times, including a trio of 20-point outings...scored 20 points in road loss at Ole Miss, including season-high three three pointers...tallied 25 points in loss against Stephen F. Austin...also had 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting at home against Murray State, a game in which he also record his season's second double-double (23 points/11 rebounds)...also had double-double at Tennessee Tech with 14 points and 10 rebounds...was Govs leading scorer six times and leading rebounder on four other occasions...led Govs with six boards and four assists in debut at Western Kentucky....in loss at Samford filled up stat sheet with 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and 9 points vs. Samford...scored in double figures (12 points) for first time against Illinois on 5-of-7 field goals...collected double figures in rebounding for the first time as a Gov with 10 (six offensive) against Lipscomb.
At Lawson State (CC): Played guard for Mike Smith at Lawson State College… averaged 17.7 points, going 193 of 416 (46.4 percent) from the floor, and 8.8 rebounds per game as a sophomore…also contributed 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game... scored 20 or more points on 10 occasions as a sophomore, including a 34-point effort against Jefferson Davis CC while also tallying 29 points versus Southern Union State…also tallied 13 double-digit rebounding efforts, including 16 against Southern Crescent Technical College…. named Alabama Community College Conference Player of the Year and third-team Junior College All-American…also chosen as Region Player of the Year in addition to earning both all-region and all-conference honors…as freshman, he averaged 10.4 points per game, shooting 41.2 percent (33 of 80) from three-point ranges and 75 percent (45 of 60) from the free-throw line.
High School: Played guard for Randy Farris at Grandview, beginning his career as a 6-1 point guard…as senior averaged 13.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game…also averaged 11.4 points per game as junior…earned all-conference as junior and senior and all-district as senior.
Personal: Health and human performance major…son of Tyrone and Marquita & Tyrone Davis…has one older brother, Ronnie Boggs, and an older sister, Kiera Cline, and one younger one, Tyreese…father was an All-Big 8 forward at Kansas State and played overseas for 10 seasons…brother Ronnie, played basketball at Jacksonville State and currently is playing overseas…born June 24.
