Career Recap: Austin Peay
As redshirt junior in 2014 – Appeared in 28 games out of the Govs bullpen in 2014… Finished the season with a 3-1 record and a 3.09 ERA, striking out 40 in 35 innings… Went 2-1 with 22 innings in 18 appearances while adding 21 Ks in OVC games… Pitched season-long 2.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts against Southeast Missouri, April 12… Picked up season’s first win against Memphis, April 9, with one scoreless inning, striking out one… Also had wins against Eastern Kentucky, April 25, and at Morehead State, May 3… Had a season-high three strikeouts in 1.1 scoreless innings at Tennessee, March 18… Ended season with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief over three outings, striking out five.
As a junior transfer in 2013 – Was Govs’ No. 3 starter before suffering season-ending injury in Week 3… Finished campaign with 1-1 record and 3.21 ERA, striking out 15 in 14 innings… Struck out seven batters in first two outings, turning the feat in 6.1 innings against Iowa, Feb. 17, before needing only 5.0 innings against Illinois State, Feb. 24… Earned win in first start as a Governor, holding Iowa to one run over 6.1 innings… Threw 2.2 innings in third start against Michigan State, March 3, allowed one run on five hits before being struck on the elbow by a line drive, an injury that ended his season.

Pitched for head coach Marc Rardin… Won 17 games over two seasons at Iowa Western Community College… Posted 8-0 record and 3.99 ERA as a sophomore, notching 46 strikeouts in 56.1 innings pitched… Member of 2012 NJCAA Division I Championship team, posting complete game (5-inning) win against Neosho (Kan.)… Posted 9-1 record and 2.87 ERA as a freshman, recording 70 strikeouts in 75.1 innings pitched… Led Reivers to NJCAA Tournament where he posted a 2-0 record and 1.00 ERA with eight strikeouts over nine innings of tournament play… Selected to NJCAA All-Tournament Team.
Career Recap: Bay Port HS
Was a pitcher for head coach Mike Simeons… Was a second-team all-conference selection and named to the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association All-Star team, as a senior… As a junior, won a complete-game, two-run effort in the state semifinals to help the Pirates to the 2009 Wisconsin Division I state title.

Anthony John Gaura is the son of Wayne and Kathy Gaura… Born May 7… Has one brother, Trevor… Graduated in May 2014 with bachelors degree in business… Working towards master’s degree in health and human performance with an emphasis in health leadership.
