As a sophomore redshirt in 2014 – Redshirted the 2014 season due to “Tommy John” surgery late in the 2013 season.

As a freshman in 2013 – Made 15 appearances in rookie campaign despite battling injury which ultimately sidelined him for season’s final six weeks… Finished season with 0-1 record and 3.65 ERA while holding opponents to a .245 batting average… Did not allow a run in first three outings and surrendered an unearned run in fourth appearance… His fifth outing was brief as he tossed just five pitches against Michigan State, March 3, before leaving due to injury… Returned to mound three weeks later at Mississippi State, March 26, allowed three runs in brief six-batter outing… Returned to form quickly, allowing one run in final nine appearances and finished season with 4.1 scoreless inning streak spanning five outings… Season ended with one pitch at Eastern Kentucky, April 26, suffering arm injury that required surgery.

Career Recap: St. George’s Independent School
Was a pitcher and infielder for head coach Buzz Walthall… Was a three-time all-tournament and all-region selection… left as St. George’s all-time hits and RBI leader… Hit .430 with 14 doubles, 50 RBI and 32 runs scored as a senior… Led St. George’s to Division II-A sub-state finals as a junior, hitting .393 with seven home runs and 48 RBI while posting a 1.75 ERA… Also was an all-state pick and Commercial Appeal Best of Preps as a football player.
