Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a senior in 2016

  • Saw action in 54 games, starting 52 contests, and finished with a .284 batting average, seven home runs and 18 RBI. Led the Govs with 19 doubles and five triples during the campaign.
  • Began season on a tear, finishing season’s first half with a .337 batting average, four home runs and 29 RBI after April 5 contest at Middle Tennessee.
  • Posted career-best five-RBI against Eastern Illinois, March 12, as part of a 2-for-4, two double effort.
  • Had nine RBI in a four-game stretch, March 25-April 1, including a 3-for-5, four-RBI outing against Murray State, March 26.
  • Hit two home runs in SIUE opener, May 13, finishing day 2-for-5 with three RBI. Went 3-for-5 with four RBI the next day, including a double and a triple.

As a junior transfer in 2015

  • Played in 37 games and made 28 starts despite missing 23 games due to injury. Finished season with .241 batting average, three home runs and 15 RBI.
  • Had streak of 13 games reaching base safely, Feb. 28-March 21, including an 11-game hit streak. Batted .279 with a .380 on-base percentage during the 13-game streak.
  • Batted .300 with all three of his season’s home runs and nine RBI during his season-best 11-game hit streak. His 2-for-4, three-RBI performance against Eastern Illinois, March 9, was his only multi-hit outing during the streak.
  • Hit home runs in back-to-back at-bats of Eastern Illinois doubleheader, March 8, ending Game 1 of series with a two-run shot then hitting a solo home run in first at-bat of Game 2.
  • Had four-hit outing (4-for-7) in Game 3, Feb. 22, of Samford series with a triple, two RBI and three runs scored.
  • Opened season as starting shortstop, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored in first game against Niagara, Feb. 13.

  • Was named first-team All-TCCAA after batting .321 with 12 home runs, 44 RBI and 55 runs scored.
  • Ranked 20th among NJCAA players in home runs
