Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a senior in 2017

  • Played in 49 games and made 46 starts, finishing season with a .287 batting average and 32 RBI while posting career highs in doubles (16), home runs (nine), walks (34) and runs scored (42).
  • Finished OVC play with .278 batting average but had team-best 21 walks in league action, posting a .412 on-base percentage.
  • Reached base safely in season’s final 28 games, tied for the ninth longest such streak in program history since 1996.
  • Also had a 13-game hit streak, May 2-19, with three home runs and seven doubles, bumping average 31 points to .294 after a 3-for-5 outing at Eastern Illinois, May 19.
  • Had two game-winning hits in season’s final week. His two-run double in the ninth inning at Eastern Illinois, May 19, helped Govs secure OVC tourney berth. Six days later it was a two-run triple in the first inning that put the Govs ahead for good in an elimination game against Jacksonville State, May 25.
  • Had a stretch of four two-hit outings in a five-game span, pushing average to season-best .450 after opening game of Mercer series, March 4.
  • After missing bulk of junior season due to injury, made splash in return to Govs lineup with two-run home run which supplied game-winning runs in season-opening win against Youngstown State..
  • Finished season with two outfield assists, catching a runner trying to reach second against Tennessee Tech, March 24, and getting a runner out leaving second early against SIUE, May 7.

As a junior in 2016

  • Started season’s first nine contests before suffering an injury at Mercer, March 4, which ended his campaign. Batted .353 on the season with four doubles and six RBI in that limited action.
  • Posted a hit in each of season’s first six games and was batting .391 after Feb. 27 contest against Connecticut.
  • Hit a leadoff home run in the second inning at Mercer, March 4, to supply the game-winning RBI. Suffered season-ending injury in his next plate appearance when he beat a throw to first for an infield single in the fourth inning.

As a sophomore in 2015

  • Played in 47 games with 45 starts, finishing season with .304 batting average, seven home runs and 36 RBI.
  • Was held to .274 batting average in OVC play with five home runs and 18 RBI but led Govs with 21 walks (.392 on-base percentage).
  • Became Govs top threat as a bunter, with OVC-most 11 sacrifice hits while notching four hits (.667 batting average). His 11 sac hits were fourth-most in program history.
  • Notched first career four-hit game in rare start as designated hitter against Western Kentucky, April 29, finishing night 4-for-5 with two RBI, a walk and a stolen base.
  • Had impressive streak of 12 RBI in four games, April 12-17, blasting three home runs during the stretch while going 8-for-16 at the plate with eight runs scored in games against Belmont, Memphis, Southern Illinois and Eastern Kentucky.
  • Pieced together a 17-game reached base safely streak, April 4-29, posting a .339 batting average and .463 on-base percentage during the stretch. Aldo had four home runs, 20 RBI and 13 walks. Streak helped push batting average above .300 for good.
  • Went 6-for-15 with a home run, against Tennessee Tech (March 27-29), to brought average to above .300.
  • Led Govs with 11 multi-RBI contests, beginning with a six-RBI outing at Samford, Feb. 22, with a grand slam and a pair of sacrifice flies.

As a freshman in 2014

  • Appeared in 53 games, including 47 starts in the outfield split between 30 starts in center field and 17 in left field.
  • His .331 batting average (56-for-169) was second on the team.
  • Led the team with a .444 on-base percentage and 14 stolen bases.
  • Started in all 30 OVC games and led the team in conference play with a .371 (43-for-116) batting average.
  • Had 15 multihit games, including six three-hit affairs.
  • Batted .450 (18-for-50) with six RBI during his nine-game hit streak, April 30-May 15 that included five straight multihit games.
  • Went 8-for-14 with two doubles, a triple, a stolen base, a home run, only struck out once in weekend series against UT Martin, May 10-12.
  • Went 3-for-4 with three runs and two stolen bases against Eastern Kentucky, April 26.
  • Returned to starting lineup against Milwaukee, March 8, and recorded first collegiate hit, a bunt single. Once he returned to the lineup had a hit in 36 of his 43 starts the season’s remainder.
  • Began season without a hit in first 10 at-bats

Career Recap: Northwest HS

  • As a senior, was named to The Leaf Chronicle 2013 All-Area Team after batting .440 with three home runs and posting a .568 on-base percentage.
  • Named to 2013 Class AAA Middle Tennessee Senior All-Star roster and was 3-for-4 with two RBI in the contest.
  • Was a three-time All-District 10-AAA selection (2011-13) and was an all-region pick as a sophomore.
  • Was ranked among Tennessee’s top 10 with a .535 batting average during sophomore campaign with seven home runs and 23 RBI.
  • Was named to TBCA Super Sophomore team.
  • Prepped under head coach Dan Stephens.
