As a sophomore in 2016

• Played 15 games, with seven starts, during injury-plagued sophomore campaign.
• Was part of Govs platoon behind plate through season’s first five weeks, compiling all seven starts prior to March 24.
• Suffered a lower-body injury that caused him to miss six consecutive weeks and he only appeared in two games in season’s final eight weeks.

As a freshman in 2015

• Played in 29 contests and started 14 at catcher while compiling a .235 batting average with two home runs and eight RBI.
• Started 12 of Govs final 14 games at catcher, posting seven of his hits during that stretch.
• Pieced together a five-game hit streak, April 26-May 3, batting .313 (5-for-16) with three RBI, a home run (at UT Martin, May 2) and three walks. That streak was part of a stretch where he had a hit in seven of eight games.
• Went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI in start against Memphis, April 14.
• Hit first collegiate home run at Middle Tennessee, March 31, as part of 1-for-2, two RBI effort that also capped a three-game hit streak.

• Batted .286 as a senior with 17 RBI in 27 games played
• 2014 Perfect Game Central Region Honorable Mention
• 2013 and 2014 Blue Division All-Catholic League
• Played under head coach Pete Lotus.

• Tyler Jacob Marik is the son of Paul Marik and Maryanne Reid.
• Born May 30.
• Has three siblings: Josh, Cole and Jake.
• Father Paul is a scout for the Texas Rangers and grandfather Jerry was a scout for more than 25 years.
• A health and human performance major with an concentration in health and minor in coaching.
