Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a senior in 2016

• Saw action in 18 contests as a relief pitcher, allowing a 4.58 ERA over 17.2 innings while allowing just six walks and striking out 14.
• Missed season’s first 19 games while recovering from an injury that shortened his 2015 campaign.
• Returned to mound at Western Kentucky, March 22, retiring the only batter he faced.
• Followed that brief outing with one inning against Murray State, March 25, striking out two. Four days later went two innings at Southern Illinois.
• Made seven consecutive outings without allowing an earned run, April 22-May 14, and struck out six batters in 6.1 innings pitched during that stretch. Lowered his ERA to 1.84 at conclusion of that run.

As a junior transfer in 2015

• Made 12 appearances totaling 10.1 innings, allowing a 7.84 ERA despite limiting opponents to a .231 batting average.
• Seven of the right-hander’s 12 appearances came against OVC foes, finishing conference play with 6.43 ERA, five walks and six strikeouts.
• Ended season allowing just one run in final 3.2 innings pitched (2.45 ERA), striking out six of 11 batters he faced in three outings.
• Struck out three of the four batters he faced in a hitless 1.1 innings pitched against Western Kentucky, April 29.  

Career Recap: Columbia State CC
As a sophomore in 2014

• Accumulated 22 appearances primarily as a middle reliever, finishing year with 1-2 record and one save with 28 strikeouts in 30.1 innings pitched.

As a freshman in 2013

• Made 17 appearances as a freshman, posting a 3-0 record and 3.03 ERA, striking out 17 in 29.2 innings.
• Played under head coach Mike Corn.

• John Keirce Kimbel is the son of Jack and Terri Kimbel.
• Prepped at Page High School.
• Born May 8.
• Has a younger brother, Peyton.
• An agriculture major with an concentration in agribusiness.
