Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a senior in 2018

  • Govs opening day starter in center field and saw action in 53 games, starting 49.
  • Batted .251 in final season with Austin Peay, with six home runs and 32 RBI.
  • Enjoyed a hot streak from April 11-May 8 that saw him bat .326 (15-46) with two home runs and 13 RBI with a hit in 10 of 13 games played during the streak.
  • Returned to lineup in SIUE opener, May 4, after missing three games. Went 3-for-8 in two outings at SIUE.
  • Followed that weekend with 2-for-5, two RBI performance against Lipscomb, May 8.
  • Went 3-for-7 with six RBI, home run and a triple during Eastern Kentucky doubleheader (4/13).
  • Hit a three-run home run in the series opener, which provided the game-securing runs. Then had a two-run triple in the nightcap, again providing the game-securing run.
  • Reached base in 19 consecutive games, Feb. 23-March 23, streak ending in Game 2 of Tennessee Tech series (3/23).
  • Hit second grand slam of 2018 in first-inning of Murray State series opener, March 16, which gave Govs lead for good and finished game 3-for-4 with five RBI.
  • Reached base in 8-of-11 plate appearances in Jacksonville State series, March 9-11, including first three-walk outing.
  • In his return to the starting lineup after missing a game, hit a grand slam as part of 2-for-3, five RBI outing in Game 2 of Toledo series, March 23.

As a junior in 2017

  • Saw action in 56 games, starting 55, and batted .272 with five home runs and 33 RBI.
  • Led OVC with 14 sacrifice hits during the season, the second most in a single season by a Govs hitter. Also batted .375 (6-for-16) when bunting.
  • Was only Govs hitter with two five RBI outings during the season, posting the feat against both Murray State (March 18) and Eastern Illinois (May 18).
  • His five-RBI performance against Eastern Illinois, May 18, included a three-run home run in the 10th inning and he was 2-for-5 with a triple earlier in the contest.
  • Went 3-for-3 with a double at Notre Dame, May 13, hitting a run-scoring double in the seventh to break up a Fighting Irish shutout bid.
  • Enjoyed a six-game hit streak, April 15-28, which saw him bat .429 (9-for-21) with five RBI and nine runs scored. Streak boosted his average to a season best .287.
  • Capped a five-game hit streak with 4-for-4 outing against Belmont, April 8, which included two stolen bases and two RBI.
  • Opened season with two triples and a home run in season’s first four games, going 4-for-13 at the plate with three walks and two stolen bases.

As a sophomore in 2016

  • Played in 44 games, starting eight, and batted .289 with nine RBI.
  • Began season platooning in center field with Patrick Massoni and all eight of his starts came in Govs first 17 games. After that stretch, moved into role off bench as a pinch runner and late defensive substitute.
  • Starting center fielder for all three games of Mercer series. Made two highlight-reel plays defensively in Game 2 of the series, one bringing a potential home run back into the park.
  • Went 1-for-2 with two RBI off the bench at Western Kentucky, March 22, hitting a two-run single in the ninth inning.
  • Had three RBI as part of 2-for-4 outing against Lipscomb, April 19, driving in runs in his first two plate appearances, including the eventual game-securing RBI with his two-run single in the fourth inning.

As a freshman in 2015

  • Appeared in 42 games, making 25 starts, and batted .198 with 12 walks (.300 on-base percentage).
  • Moved into starting shortstop role after injury to Clayton Smithson, making 19 infield starts in the 23 games he missed. His 25 starts were spread between shortstop (16), second base (2), center field (4) and right field (2).
  • Moved into starting center field role against UT Martin, March 11, adding a single and two walks in first three plate appearances. Finished day 1-for-2 at the plate.
  • Went 4-for-8 in Tennessee Tech series, March 27-29, which included a double and RBI.
  • Recorded first career hit at Samford, Feb. 22, finishing day 1-for-4.

  • Finished career with 89 stolen bases and .330 batting average
  • Batted .330 as a senior and was a 2014 Perfect Game Southeast Region 1st Team All-Region and a Georgia All-State Second Team selection.
  • Three-time All-Region 4-AAAAAA Second Team selection.
  • Ranked No. 41 among Georgia prospects by Baseball America’s 2014 Draft Report.
  • Played under coach Wade Stewart.
