Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a senior in 2019

  • Saw action in 48 games, splitting his 34 starts between left field (22) and right field (12).
  • Finished season batting .364 with a team-best 14 doubles while also posting five home runs and 39 RBI.
  • Named to OVC All-Tournament team after setting program record with 12 RBI in a single tournament. Led Govs with .500 batting average and three home runs in four tournament games.
  • Kicked off tournament stay with a program tourney-record six RBI and tying the tourney mark with two home runs in a 3-for-5 day against UT Martin, May 22.
  • Went 3-for-5 with five RBI the following day against Eastern Kentucky, including a lead-grabbing three-run home run in the third inning.
  • Named OVC Player of the Week, May 13, after going 9-for-13 (.692) at the plate with six runs scored and 10 RBI.
  • Was big part of Govs 29-run outburst against Eastern Illinois, May 11, going 4-for-6 with seven RBI outing which included a first-inning grand slam.
  • Went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a walk at Tennessee, May 7.
  • Batted .441 during May to lead all Govs hitters and posted 12 of his 19 extra-base hits in those final 15 games, including five home runs.
  • Reached base in all seven plate appearances in April 21 contest at UT Martin, going 4-for-4 with a double and three walks while scoring five times. Ultimately reached base in 10 consecutive plate appearances to end the UTM series.
  • Reached base in every plate appearance three times during the season: Morehead State (April 12, 3-3, BB); UT Martin (April 21, 4-4, 3 BB); and Tennessee (May 7, 3-3, BB).
  • Began season with only five hits (.161 batting average) in season’s first half. Led Govs with a .410 batting average (34-of-83) in the regular season’s second half and capped campaign with impressive OVC tourney outing.

As a junior in 2018:

  • Saw action in 36 games, starting 12 outings primarily in right field, and was one of Govs most frequently-used options off the bench.
  • Had Govs first two outfield assists of the season, cutting down a runner at second in the Govs wins against Indiana State, March 3, and Murray State, March 17.
  • Appeared five times in May, including a start at designated hitter in OVC tournament.
  • Had a hit in each of Murray State series' final two games, including a 1-for-2, three-walk outing in the series finale, March 18, that saw him score four runs.
  • Drove in a pair of runs twice during the season: March 2 against Indiana State and April 27 against UT Martin.
  • Recorded first collegiate hit against South Dakota State, Feb. 17 – a pinch-hit single.

Career Recap: Northwest Mississippi CC

  • Two-Time All-MACJC/NJCAA All-Region 23 selection at Northwest Mississippi, playing outfield for head coach Mark Carson.
  • Ended career at NMCC as program-leader with 99 games played, was second in program history in doubles (28) and at-bats (354), ninth in hits (114) and 10th in RBI (84).
  • As a sophomore, notched a .305 batting average while leading Rangers in doubles (16) and RBI (48), followed a freshman campaign that saw him hit .338 with five home runs and team-best 36 RBI.
  • Had 5-for-5 outing against JCJC as one of 18 multi-hit outings in his 50 games played as a rookie.

Career Recap: Arlington HS

  • Played outfield for head coach Chris Ring.
  • Batted .404 with 21 RBI and 13 stolen bases as a senior and was named to Commercial Appeal All-Metro Team and was an All-Region 7 selection.
  • Posted a .455 batting average with 14 RBI and seven stolen bases as a junior.
