Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a senior in 2019

  • Made team-leading 28 appearances, primarily as the Govs setup man to closer Brett Newberg.
  • Posted a 3-0 record and 3.50 ERA, striking out 64 batters in 36 innings pitched.
  • In 13 OVC relief appearances, recorded a 3.54 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 25.0 innings pitched.
  • Began season walking 10 batters in first 7.2 innings (11.74 BB/9) but settled down after those first six appearances, walking only 16 in final 28.1 innings (5.08 BB/9).
  • Struck out 11 batters in four innings of work during the Eastern Illinois series, May 10-12. Struck out six in two innings in series opener before returning in the series finale to strikeout another five over two innings.
  • Recorded two strikeouts in seven consecutive outings, April 26-May 12, with each outing lasting at least one inning. Racked up 23 strikeouts in 10.2 innings (19.40 K/9) during the stretch.
  • Picked up win No. 3 with two scoreless innings during SIUE series finale, April 28, striking out two.
  • Struck out six batters in two innings of work (faced eight batters) against Middle Tennessee, March 26, for season’s second victory.
  • Recorded four strikeouts in two scoreless innings of relief against Lipscomb, March 5, for season’s first victory.

As a junior transfer in 2018

  • Made 14 appearances in his first season with Govs, including one start.
  • Struck out three batters in a scoreless, hitless inning of work against Lipscomb, May 8.
  • Season's lone start came at Murray State, April 11, where he allowed three unearned runs in 3.2 innings in a game the Govs won in extra innings. Struck out a season-high four batters in the start.
  • Began his career with a win in his first outing, allowing one run in one inning of work against South Dakota State, Feb. 17, striking out three batters.

Career Recap: Colby CC

  • Was a Division I All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College West Team selection as a sophomore for head coach Ryan Carter.
  • Made 15 appearances, including 12 starts, as a sophomore and posted a 6-3 record with 65 strikeouts in 66.2 innings pitched.
  • Did not allow an earned run in season’s final three outings, including a start against Fort Scott that saw him strikeout eight batters in six innings.
  • Struck out 10 batters in eight-inning victory at Hutchinson.
  • Notched a 4-0 record in nine appearances (four starts) as a freshman, striking out 30 batters in 19.2 innings pitched.

Career Recap: Sammamish HS

  • Honorable Mention All-King County Class 3A/2A as a senior for head coach Cory Smith.
  • Made nine appearances on the mound as a senior, posting a 1-3 record and 3.82 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 25.2 innings. Also batted .261 with six RBI in 19 games played.
