Career Recap: Austin Peay

As a redshirt senior in 2018:

  • Started all 17 matches for the Govs and transitioned to a forward role around halfway through the year.
  • In her first start as a forward, scored two goals and had an assist against Jacksonville State (Sept. 28).
  • Only one of 12 players in program history with at least five points in a single game.
  • Also scored a goal in the eventual 2-1 loss against Murray State (Oct. 12).

As a senior in 2017:

  • Suffered a season ending injury during preseason.

As a junior in 2016:

  • Played in 14 matches with four starts, primarily at outside back.
  • Appeared in four of the first five games before battling injury throughout the remaining fixtures.
  • Tallied season-high 60 minutes at Lipscomb, Sept. 4.
  • Attempted one shot in 2016, occurring at Eastern Illinois on Oct. 16.
  • All four starts came in Ohio Valley Conference play.

As a sophomore in 2015:

  • Made transition to outside back after playing forward as a freshman.
  • In 14 games (13 starts), tallied one assist vs. Southeast Missouri (Oct. 2).
  • Attempted nine shots, most by a defender in 2016.
  • Played season-high 90 minutes in overtime thriller vs. UAB (Aug. 21).

As a freshman in 2014: 

  • First career goal came against Chattanooga in the home opener, taking three shots in the contest.
  • Started 14 of 18 games as a newcomer, and was named APSU’s Most Improved Player.
  • Credited with assist in first OVC match vs. Eastern Kentucky.

Prep: Played forward for Jaclyn Puntillo at Sacred Heart Academy… scored 59 goals and added 33 assists in her career… 2013 Miss Kentucky Soccer Finalist… two-time Kentucky High School Athletic Association All-State honoree, including a first-team nod in 2013… 2013 NSCAA All-American nominee and member of the All-Region IV team… played club soccer for Kentucky Fire under Jonathan Velotta.

Personal: Daughter of Philip and Carla Wistrom… father was a golfer at Iowa… has one brother, James, and one sister, Claire… born Nov. 1... majoring in biology.
