Career Recap: Austin Peay

As a graduate student in 2021:

• Played in all 33 matches, appearing in 118 sets.
• Finished her career with 1,497 assists after dishing out 585 assists as a graduate student – 11th all-time in program history.
• Started the season with nine-straight matches of double-digit assists, including a 31-assist outing against Indiana State (Sept. 11).
• Had three straight 20-assist matches from Oct. 8-13, totaling 75 assists (5.36 per set) during that run.
• Posted a season-high 39 assists against Southeast Missouri (Oct. 28).
• Had a career-high 27 service aces throughout the season, including four in a five-set victory over Miami (Ohio) (Aug. 27).

As a junior in 2020-21:

• Played in all 14 matches, starting four, and played all 49 sets.
• Handed out 230 assists (4.69 per set) while posting 102 digs (2.08 per set).
• Finished the season with season bests in assists (27) and digs (17) at UT Martin, March 29.
• Posted 20-plus assists in back-to-back matches at Eastern Illinois (20 assists, March 1) and against Murray State (26 assists, March 7).
• Also had double-digit dig totals against Morehead State (13, Feb. 21) and at Southeast Missouri (11, March 15).

As a sophomore in 2019:

• Played in all 31 matches (107 sets).
• Led the Govs with 632 assists while also scoring 22 service aces.
• Dished out a career-high 56 assists in Govs win against Missouri State, Sept. 21, while also scoring four kills, three service aces and two blocks.
• That 56-assist outing was in the middle of a nine-match stretch that saw her provide double-digit assist outings and included a 39-assist effort at SIUE, Sept. 27, that was her next-highest assist total on the season.
• As part of that Sept. 27 SIUE contest, she hit a career-high seven kills and had a season-best 12 digs as she closed in on a near triple-double.
• She had three double-doubles during the season, each the assists-digs variety: Boise State (26 assists, 11 digs), SIUE (39, 12) and at Morehead State (22, 11).

As a redshirt freshman in 2018:

• Appeared in 11 matches (17 sets) and had 21 kills (1.24 per set) and 50 assists.
• Saw significant time against Tennessee Tech, playing three sets and finishing with three kills, 27 assists, seven digs and a block.
• Had four kills and two blocks at Evansville, Sept. 8.
• Enjoyed season’s best outing against Troy, Sept. 1, recording nine kills and a .643 attack percentage in three sets.

As a freshman redshirt in 2017

• Did not appear in a match during her first season at Austin Peay.

Career Recap: Hardin Valley Academy

• As a senior led Hardin Valley Academy, under head coach and Austin Peay alumna Mitzi McCurry, to a 33-11 record and the No. 1 seed in the 2016 TSSAA State Championship where it ultimately finished in third place.
• Finished season with 182 kills, 455 assists, 70 service aces and 53 blocks.
• Was a first-team all-district 4-AAA selection and named to the district 4-AAA all-tournament team.
• During junior campaign recorded 242 kills and 123 digs and was named to the all-district 4-AAA team.
• Played for K2 Volleyball Club and coach Andre Alves.

Personal

• Caroline Elizabeth Waite is the daughter of Alan and Hope Waite.
• Born Aug. 24.
• Has a younger sister, Becca.
• Majoring in Applied Exercise Science.
