2022

  • Opening Day starting pitcher and made a start during every weekend series of the regular-season.
  • Led the Govs’ regulars in ERA (6.10), strikeouts (87), and innings pitched (82.2).
  • Became the ninth Governor to record 200 career strikeouts against Murray State (May 7), striking out a season-high nine batters over 6.0 innings.
  • Struck out five batters in 12 of 14 appearances during the season.
  • Had 46 strikeouts (3rd in OVC) and 43.2 innings pitched (7th in OVC) during league action.
  • His 4.1-inning outing in the season opener against Boston College (Feb. 18) was the longest by a Govs’ starter over the opening weekend
  • Tied his career-best with 7.1 innings of work against Bowling Green (Feb. 25), equaling a mark he set against Army 364 days prior, and notched his first win with one earned run allowed on three hits while striking out six batters.
  • Struck out eight batters in 7.0 innings of work against Eastern Kentucky (March 11) but did not factor into the decision.
  • Picked up second win with six strikeouts and two runs allowed in 6.0-inning outing at UT Martin (April 9).
  • Held Eastern Illinois to one run on four hits in 5.0 innings, striking out five batters, but did not factor into the decision (April 15).
  • Season’s lone relief appearance came in Govs final game of the season, supplying 5.0 innings of work against SIUE (May 24).

2021

  • Opening Day starter on the mound and was part of the starting rotation for the first five weekends before being moved to the bullpen. Finished season with 19 appearances, including six starts.
  • Posted a 5.22 ERA over 70.2 innings, striking out a team-leading 68 batters.
  • Went 3-2 with two saves and a 4.64 ERA as a reliever, with his 10 games finished ranking among the league’s Top 10.
  • In OVC play, recorded a 4-3 record in 13 appearances (three starts) with a 4.66 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 46.1 inning pitched.
  • Recorded a career high 10 strikeouts against SIUE (April 23) in 5.2 innings of relief and struck out the side twice – in order in the 10th inning and working around base runners in the 11th.
  • Notched three wins and a save in a four-game stretch: picked up six-inning relief wins against Belmont (March 26) and at Eastern Kentucky (April 2), a save against Morehead State (April 8), and closing with a start and victory at UT Martin (April 17).
  • Picked up first save since 2018 with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief against Morehead State (April 8).
  • Retired first 19 batters he faced against Army (Feb. 26), ultimately going a career-best 7.1 innings, allowing one run on three hits.
  • Austin Peay was 1-5 in his starts, with the offense providing 24 runs of support (4.0 runs per game).

2020

  • Was Govs No. 1 on the mound, starting each of the four weekends during COVID-19 shortened season.
  • Led Govs in innings pitched (19.1), strikeouts (21) and allowed only four walks.
  • Struck out seven batters, walking none, in 5.1 innings against Murray State, March 6, but lost 4-1 decision.
  • Recorded season-high eight strikeouts over six innings against Samford, Feb. 21.

2019

  • Utilized his redshirt after 2019 season was ended due to injury.
  • Appeared in three of the Governors first five games in 2019 prior to injury.
  • Struck out three batters over 1.2 scoreless innings of work against Northern Illinois, Feb. 24, in season’s final outing.

2018

  • Made 24 appearances, including three starts, in his first year at Austin Peay.
  • Was named to OVC All-Freshman team after posting two wins and three saves in league play.
  • Season’s third save came in relief against UT Martin, April 28, with a scoreless inning of relief.
  • Picked up a relief win in Govs wild win against Southeast Missouri, March 30, allowing two unearned runs in 1.2 innings of work.
  • Tossed 2.1 scoreless innings at Kansas State, March 21, in season’s second start.
  • Picked up saves in consecutive outings in OVC play. His first save was 2.1 inning outing at Jacksonville State, March 10, that saw him allow one run on three hits. Followed that with 3.2-inning save, striking out the final six batters he faced against Murray State, March 17.
  • His first collegiate win came in relief against Toledo, Feb. 25, with 1.1 scoreless innings.

Team Canada

  • Named to Team Canada Junior National Team roster and played in Cuba Summer Series and U-18 Baseball World Cup during the 2017 summer.
  • Made four relief appearances in U-18 Baseball World Cup, posting a 1-1 record and a save while not allowing an earned run while striking out six over 9.2 innings pitched.
  • Tossed two scoreless innings of relief against Team Nicaragua, striking out two to pick up win in pool play.
  • Recorded three-inning save against No. 1 seeded Team Japan in Super Round play, striking out two and allowing just two hits, to allow Team Canada to advance to Medal Round.

Prep Career

  • Was a pitcher, shortstop and first baseman for head coach Jeff Zownir at St. Michaels College School.
  • Posted an 8-0 record and 0.50 ERA as a senior.

  • Son of Jeff Gollert and Deborah Morshead and has a younger brother, Taeg.
  • Birthday is June 17.
  • A management major with a general business concentration.
