Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a junior in 2020

  • One of three Govs to start all 17 games, starting at shortstop in every contest.
  • Batted .276 during the season with a home run, seven RBI, eight walks and 13 runs scored.
  • Had fourth multi-hit outing of the season against Southern Illinois, March 4, going 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.
  • Walked three times, had a stolen base and was 1-for-2 at the plate in Game 2 at Jacksonville, Feb. 29.
  • Season’s second three-RBI day arrive Feb. 23 against Evansville as part of 2-for-5, three run scored performance.
  • Hit game-winning 2-run home run in 5th inning of Eastern Michigan series finale, Feb. 15, going 4-for-5 with three RBI.
  • Defensively, had a hand in 14 of the Govs 20 double plays.

As a sophomore in 2019

  • Played in 50 games and split his 34 starts between second base (20) and shortstop (14).
  • Began season as Govs starter at shortstop before moving to second base at Southern Illinois, March 12. Remained in starting lineup for one more month before coming off the bench the remainder of the season.
  • Came off bench to go 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI in Eastern Illinois series finale, May 11.
  • Hit a solo home run as part of a 2-for-3 outing in start at Middle Tennessee, April 23.
  • Enjoyed an 11-game hit streak, March 22-April 6, and had an RBI in seven consecutive games and a home run in three consecutive games during that streak.
  • Opened Belmont series with back-to-back two-hit outings, March 29-30, posting a home run in each contest. Went 2-for-4 with three RBI in the series’ second game.
  • Ater quiet opening weekend, bounced back with home runs against Bradley, Feb. 20, and Northern Illinois, Feb. 24.

As a freshman in 2018

  • Saw action in 41 games, beginning season as Govs starting third baseman before starting season's final 18 games at shortstop. Batted .208 in freshman campaign, with a home run and 19 RBI.
  • Hit first collegiate home run as part of 3-for-4, two RBI effort in the series opener at nationally-ranked Clemson, May 11, and led Govs in the three-game set with a .400 batting average and three RBI.
  • Had three RBI without a base hit against Lipscomb, May 8, driving in runs with a groundout, sacrifice fly and a walk in his first three plate appearances.
  • Started all three games of the Eastern Kentucky series at designated hitter and finished the series 3-for-8 with four walks and three runs scored.
  • Had back-to-back two-hit outings in Toledo series, March 23 & 25, going 2-for-4 with three RBI in the opener before closing the series with a 2-for-4, two RBI performance.

Career Recap: West Orange HS

  • Played third base for head coach Jesse Marlo.
  • Posted .288 batting average with three home runs and seven doubles as a senior.
  • Batted .314 with five doubles and 14 RBI as a junior, helping West Orange post a 27-3 record and reach the Class 9A state semifinals.
  • Named to Perfect Game Preseason Underclassmen Honorable Mention All-American in 2016.
