Career Recap: Austin Peay

As a senior in 2020:

• Started all ten matches during her senior season.
• Dished out an assist in the 56^th minute and scored her career’s first game-winning goal in the 103^rd minute of the Govs 4-3 double-overtime win against Jacksonville State, March 9.
• Wrapped up her Austin Peay career with 36-consecutive starts dating back to her sophomore season, she also tallied a goal and an assist in three-straight seasons.

As a junior in 2019:

• Started all 18 games and logged a career-high 1,550 minutes on the season.
• Dished out her season’s first assist on the Govs first goal of the season against Chattanooga, Aug. 23.
• Scored both of her season’s goals in conference play, finding the back of the net against SIUE, Sept. 19, and at Murray State, Oct. 20.
• Finished the season with the second most goals (2) on the team, tied for the second most assists (2), and the third most points (6).

As a sophomore in 2018:

• Appeared in all 17 games, making 11 starts.
• Had an assist against Eastern Kentucky, Oct. 5.
• Her first career goal was the equalizer in the regular-season finale against Southeast Missouri, Oct. 21.

As a freshman in 2017:

• Appeared in nine games for the Governors during her freshman season, playing 232 minutes.
• Played the majority of her minutes during nonconference play, with a season-high 64 minutes coming against Middle Tennessee,  Aug. 20. 

Prior to Austin Peay

Had success at both the club and high school levels… with Lake Norman Soccer Club, Whittaker was named Player of the Tournament at the TFC Showcase… won the Disney Showcase as a junior after finishing second the year before… the team also won the Denmark Dana Cup championship twice in her career… at Hopewell High School, was a three-time All-Conference selection and a member of the All-Region team as a junior… holds the record for most goals in a single-season, and scored 47 in her first three years – helping grab Offensive MVP and Distributor MVP accolades.

Personal

Daughter of Steve and Donna Whittaker... has one sibling, Kyle... born May 25... an Applied Exercise Science major with a minor in Psychological Science.
