2021-22 (Sophomore Season)
One of two Governors to start all 33 games – matching the program record for games played and games started in a single season – while playing 27.5 minutes per contest… led the Govs with six assists against Pikeville, Nov. 12, marking the first of a team-leading 15 times she would lead the way in assists… recorded 10 points, four assists, and a career-high five steals against North Alabama, Nov. 16… dished out a career-high eight assists at UNC Asheville, Dec. 16… tallied seven points, seven assists, a blocked shot, and a steal at Southeast Missouri, Jan. 1… pulled down a career-high nine rebounds – with two coming on the offensive end – against Southeast Missouri, Feb. 10… led the Governors with a career-high 17 points at Tennessee Tech, Feb. 19, she also led the team in rebounds (8), assists (4), and steals (2)… recorded five assists in the Women’s Basketball Invitational against Furman, March 19, and finished the season with at least three assists in 24 of 33 games… averaged 4.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game… led the team and ranked fourth in the OVC with 111 assists, she was the first Gov to record 100-or-more assists in a season since Bri Williams dished out 105 assists during the 2017-18 season… after only turning the ball over 57 times, she ranked second in the OVC and 54th in the NCAA with a 1.95 assist-to-turnover ratio.
2020-21 (Freshman Season)
Made 22 appearances with one start and averaged 17.5 minutes per game… grabbed a career-high eight rebounds – with five coming on the offensive end – and scored five points in her Austin Peay debut against North Alabama, Nov. 25… scored a career-high 16 points and dished out a career-high six assists against Trevecca, Nov. 28, also knocked down a career-best three three-pointers against Trojans… recorded a career-high three steals at SIUE, Jan. 7… made her first career start at Southeast Missouri, Jan. 16… recorded both an assist and a rebound in 18 games, the most such games by any Governor during the 2020-21 season… averaged 5.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game in her debut season.
Career Recap: Montverde Academy
Prepped under coach Laura Harper, a member of the 2006 NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship team at Maryland, at the prestigious Montverde Academy… averaged 15 points, four rebounds, and five assists per game while playing for the Puerto Rican national team at the Centrobasket U17 Women’s Championship… posted a 19-point performance against Guatemala, before an 11-point, 8-assist, and 6-rebound outing against the Bahamas… was named the Most Valuable Player of the Florida Prospects Event.
Personal
The first Puerto Rican-born player in program history… daughter of Angel De Leon and Denise Negron… her mother, Denise, played volleyball at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón… has one sibling, Angel… born January 26… plans to major in Communications.
