As a junior in 2020

• Began season as Govs No. 2 starter and made four starts in seven appearances.
• Supplied 1.1 innings of scoreless relief in final appearance against Western Illinois, March 11.
• Tossed scoreless inning as opener at Western Kentucky, Feb. 25.
• Went four innings and did not allow an earned run in first start as a Governor against Eastern Michigan, Feb. 15.

Career Recap: American River College
As a sophomore in 2019

• For a second-straight season, the Beavers with 13 starts, posting three wins with a 3.43 ERA over 84 innings pitched.
• Ranked among California Community College Top 25 in both starts, innings pitched and strikeouts (80).
• Named Second Team All-Big 8 Conference.
• Struck out six or more batters in nine of his 13 starts and recorded a quality start eight times.
• Closed ARC career with victory against Cosumnes River, April 26, striking out five and scattering three hits over 6.2 innings.
• Tossed seven scoreless innings, striking out eight, at Modesto April 20.
• Struck out career-high nine batters and scattered eight hits over seven innings against Sacramento City, March 15.
• Began season with two wins in his first three starts, holding West Valley scoreless over six innings, Jan. 26, and following up with seven scoreless frames at Hartnell, Feb. 9.

As a freshman in 2018

• Led the Beavers with 13 starts, finishing with five wins and a 5.74 ERA.
• Recorded 38 strikeouts in 73.2 innings pitched.
• Won five consecutive starts, Feb. 2-March 4, including a complete-game victory at Hartnell, Feb. 9.
• During win streak, allowed eight earned runs (1.88 ERA) over 38.1 innings, and struck out 14.

Career Recap: Granite Bay HS

• Selected to play in California Collegiate League All-Star Game and Prospect Showcase as a senior.
• Finished prep career with 1.21 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 46.1 innings over 31 relief appearances.

Personal

• Born June 4.
• Hayden Deatz Josephson is the son of Ruth Fernandes and Carl Josephson and has two brothers: Harry and Hunter.
• A leadership and organizational administration major.
