APSU Athletics Director's Honor Roll: S23, F23, S24, F24, S25

2025 | Austin Peay

• Played in 22 games for the Govs all behind the plate, starting 19, and finished the season with a .302 batting average and 10 RBI.
• Set a single-game best four RBI against Eastern Kentucky (April 4), where he went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and a three-run home run, his first homer of his career.
• Went 4-for-4 against Bellarmine (May 4), driving in one run and swiping a bag.

2024 | Austin Peay

• Mixed in the rotation behind the plate at catcher, playing in 16 games, starting ten.
• Made good use in the lineup as he batted .364 on the year and picked up nine RBI on 16 hits, three of which were doubles.
• Found his way on base often, posting a .429 OBP with four base-on-balls and one hit-by-pitch.
• Made his Govs’ debut against Western Illinois (February 18) as a defensive replacement and got two at-bats, where he collected his first collegiate hit down the third base line in his second AB.
• Had his first multi-hit game versus Maryland Eastern Shore (February 25), going 2-for-4 at the plate.
• Collected three hits in a game for the first time against Alabama A&M (April 30), where he finished the day 3-for-5, tallying an RBI and scoring four runs.
• In his next game played in, he stayed hot at the plate, going 3-for-4 against Belmont (May 7) with three RBI and two runs scored on two singles and a double.
• Had four games with 2+ hits.
• Finished the season going 7-for-10 at the plate with two doubles and six RBI in his final three games.

2023 | Austin Peay 

• He did not play on the Governors’ roster in his initial season after transferring during the winter.

Prep Career

• Played catcher and first base at King’s Christian Collegiate and also played basketball.

Personal

• Keaton Warren Cottam is the son of Tamra and Donny Cottam.
• Birthday is Nov. 30.
• Has two siblings: Harrison and Mackenzie.
• His father, Donny, and uncle, Jeff, each played baseball at Memphis.
• His brother Harrison plays professional hockey in Sweden.
• His cousin, Kole Cottam, is a catcher and first baseman in the Boston Red Sox organization after playing for Kentucky.
• His cousin Kyle Cottam plays on the PGA’s Canadian Tour after graduating from Clemson.
