As a senior in 2012 – Bounds made two pitching appearances and a pinch hit, finishing season with no decisions and a 13.50 ERA... appeared in relief against Alabama A&M, March 27, allowing one run over one inning... started and allowed two runs in one inning at Tennessee, April 24... pinch hit at Oregon, June 3, in Govs' final at-bat of NCAA Championship's Eugene Region.
As a redshirt junior in 2011 – Bounds made nine relief appearances, posting  a 1-0 record with a 6.00 ERA… made two appearances in Valparaiso series, allowing one hit in two innings… picked up victory against Illinois State, Feb.  26, finishing game with two scoreless innings… threw 1.2 innings against Evansville, allowing six unearned runs on five hits… retired only batter he faced at Arkansas State, March 11… closed Game 2 of Eastern Kentucky series with a scoreless inning… threw final inning of Western Kentucky contest, April 12, allowing three runs.

Under current Austin Peay assistant coach Joel Mangrum, pitched 11.1 innings in sophomore campaign, compiling a 6.35 ERA and striking out five.

Mark Allen Bounds III is the son of Mark and Regina Bounds… born Oct. 5… has a younger sister, Sarah… a health and human performance major with teaching emphasis and a professional education minor… prepped at Carter High School.
