• Made six relief appearances and posted a 1-0 record with seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings in first season at Austin Peay.
• Appeared as a catcher in final inning of regular-season finale at Murray State (May 21).
• Credited with win in Govs midweek victory at Belmont (May 11), after closing the seventh inning with two outs.
• Struck out the side while facing four batters against Bellarmine (May 5).
• Struck out three batters in season’s longest outing (2.2 inning) against Arkansas State (April 30).
• Entered season opener at DBU (2/20) and faced nine batters during his one-inning outing.

• Made four appearances, two starts, and compiled a 2-2 record at North Iowa Area Community College.
• Recorded 22 strikeouts in 12.1 innings (16.05 per nine innings) and posted a 2.92 ERA.
• Struck out seven batters in each of his starts – one a four-inning outing (Northwest Oklahoma State, March 11) and the other a three-inning start (at Redlands, March 7).

• Appeared in 16 games, all in relief, and recorded a 1-0 record with five saves in first season at North Iowa Area CC.
• Finished with 22 strikeouts in 15 innings pitched (13.20 per nine innings) and held opponents to a .132 batting average.
• Surrendered just one earned run (0.60 ERA) during the season.
• Did not make first appearance until April 1 (team’s 22nd game) and opened his career with  11 consecutive appearances without allowing a run (10.1 innings).

• Was a relief pitcher for head coach Paul Twnge at Minnetonka High School
• Appeared in seven games, finishing with 5.2 innings pitched in 2018, to help Minnetonka reach Class AAAA State Championship game.
• Recorded 11 strikeouts (13.59 per seven innings) and a 7.41 ERA as a senior.
• Also played football and hockey at Minnetonka.
• Played with American Legion Baseball following senior season, helping Excelsior Post XX reach sub-state championship game.

Personal

• Michael John Sturek is the son of Jay and Julie Sturek.
• Birthday is August 6.
• Has two brothers, Stephen and William.
• Stephen played rugby at Minnesota and his twin brother, William, was an outfielder at North Iowa Area CC and signed to play at Ohio.
