2022

  • Saw action in 21 games, starting five, with three of those starts coming at catcher.
  • Batted .333 with a double, and five RBI.
  • Notched season’s first hit in a start behind the plate against Lipscomb, going 1-for-3 with a RBI (March 8).
  • Started the next midweek outing at Middle Tennessee (March 15) and was 1-for-4 with a RBI and run scored.
  • Ended the season with a five-game hit streak (April 27-May 21), batting .545 (6-for-11) with a double and three RBI.
  • Went 2-for-5 with two RBI in a start behind the plate at Bellarmine (April 27).
  • Was 1-for-2 with a double, walk, and RBI against Morehead State (May 20).

2021

  • Made seven starts at catcher in 17 appearances.
  • Batted .174 in limited action (23 AB) with four walks.
  • Came off bench in both games of the Eastern Kentucky doubleheader (April 3). Walked twice in the opener, including a bases-loaded walk, and had a 10th-inning RBI single to drive in an insurance run in Game 2.
  • Starting catcher at Lipscomb (March 30) and was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two walks, reaching base safely in his first four plate appearances.

2020

  • Made five starts at catcher and played eight games, posting a .308 batting average in first season with the Governors.
  • Went 2-for-4 as a starter in Game 2 of the Murray State series, March 7.
  • Posted 1-for-2 outing with a walk and caught a runner stealing at Jacksonville, March 1.
  • After the season ended prematurely, returned home to Arizona and worked with Oakland A's pitcher Frankie Montas and was featured in a story on TheAthletic.com on Montas' work during the COVID-19 shutdown. 

Prep Career

  • Played catcher, first base and third base for his father and head coach Enrique Cotto at Valley Vista High School.
  • Finished career with .404 batting average in senior season and went 2-0 with 1.75 ERA on the mound.
  • Batted .380 with 21 RBI and 16 runs scored in junior season at Valley Vista High
  • Was a First-Team 6A Southwest All-Region selection as a junior
  • Finished career ranked the No. 4 catcher in Arizona by Perfect Game..
