Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a senior in 2020

  • Began season as Govs No. 3 starter and made two starts and two relief appearances during the season.
  • Struck out five batters and allowed just one unearned run over season-long 5.1-inning relief appearance at Jacksonville, March 1.

As a junior in 2019

  • Appeared in 23 games, including eight starts, and struck out 41 batters in 48.1 innings pitched.
  • Began season with six straight midweek starts, then went more than a month until his next midweek start at Tennessee.
  • Recorded career-best 37 strikeouts in 43.2 innings, including 17 strikeouts (8.50 K/9) in his 14 relief appearances.
  • Picked up his season’s first win while striking out five batters and allowing only one run over five innings at Western Kentucky, March 19.
  • Notched consecutive five-inning starts against Southern Illinois, March 12, and Western Kentucky, March 19, and allowed only one earned run in each start.
  • Struck out season-high five batters in start at No. 1 Vanderbilt, Feb. 27, going 3.1 innings.

As a sophomore in 2018

  • Made 16 appearances, including three starts.
  • Began season as Govs weekday starter, making his first start against Southern Illinois, Feb. 20.
  • His next three outings were out of the bullpen, allowing one run and striking out eight over 5.1 innings.
  • That stretch earned him start at Samford, March 7, where he struck out six over 3.1 innings.
  • Made next midweek start against Middle Tennessee but did not make it out of the first inning.
  • Followed with back-to-back scoreless outings at Kansas State, March 21, and at Tennessee Tech, March 23.
  • Made first career plate appearance as a pinch hitter against Lipscomb, May 8, grounding out sharply.

As a freshman in 2017

  • Made 14 appearances in first season, including one start, and struck out 16 batters in 18.1 innings pitched.
  • Did not allow an earned run in final three appearances of the season, providing a scoreless inning of relief in both Lipscomb contests, May 10 and 16, and allowing only an unearned run in tourney contest against Morehead State, May 24.
  • Supplied scoreless relief outings in consecutive OVC outings. Retired three of the four batters he faced against Tennessee Tech, March 24. One week later, struck out two batters in 1.1-inning outing against Southeast Missouri.

Career Recap: Hardin Valley Academy

  • Utility man played first base, third base, shortstop and outfield in addition to serving as a right-handed pitcher for head coach Joseph Michalski.
  • Was a second-team all-region pick as a senior and a first-team all-district choice as a sophomore.
  • Helped lead Hawks to 2015 Tennessee Class AAA title going 5-for-12 with two RBI and two walks in four state tournament contests.
  • As a junior, batted .309 with 24 RBI and was 1-4 with 31 strikeouts and 28.2 innings pitched.
  • Was one of 40 selections to USA Baseball’s 2015 17U National Team Development Program and made two pitching appearances in Los Angeles.
  • Player summer ball with the Diamond Simcox Academy coached by Larry Simcox and Brian Hochevar. He also participated as a pitcher in the 2014 Power Showcase held at Marlins Field, the home of Major League Baseball's Miami Marlins.
