Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a junior in 2007 ? Hogue played in 59 games, starting 57 (49 in right field and eight in left field) ...batted .307 with a team-bests in home runs (8) and RBI (41)... ranked second in hits (66), runs scored (46) and at-bats (215)... set school’s single-season strikeout record (66)... had 11 stolen bases in 12 attempts... led the Govs with 13 multi-RBI games... also had 19 multi-hit games... went 3-for-5 with a pair of two-run home runs and four RBI in the series opener against Morehead State, March 31... had a 10-game hit streak that included six multi-hit games from March 7 to March 21... never went more than two games without a base hit... led the Govs hitting .340 against non-conference opponents... also hit three home runs and had 18 RBI in non-conference contests... had at least one hit in every conference series... hit home runs in two consecutive games twice, against Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Indiana state, March 11 and March 13, both games of a doubleheader at Murray State, May 12.... batting average reached as high as .397, March 31, but never dipped below .300 after March 11... had a hit in each of the Govs three OVC Tournament games... was 3-for-10 in NCAA’s Nashville Regional... was 2-for-4 against Memphis... went 1-for-4 in second game against Vanderbilt.

As a sophomore in 2006 ? Hogue came back from hamstring problems to compete in 43 games, starting 20... started 13 games as designed hitter, with other seven starts coming in left field... was third on the team with three home runs, while recording 14 RBI... opened the season with a four-game hit streak, during that stretch compiling five hits, three RBI, while scoring three times... against Valparaiso on March 5 went 2-for-5, scoring once, while driving in two RBI, in the Govs 16-10 win... was one of the few bright spots in Govs 9-2 loss at Eastern Illinois, May 6, going 2-for-4, with both RBI.

As a freshman in 2005 ? Hogue had a promising freshman season derailed by a leg injury...  despite the injury, he played in 26 games, mostly in left field, and batted .357 with three doubles and three triples in just 56 at-bats...  was part of the Govs left field platoon until pulling his hamstring against Middle Tennessee, April 5...  he returned in third game of conference series at UT Martin and then started the Govs next two contests...  was 3-for-3 against Eastern Illinois before re-aggravating the injury and did not play in season’s remainder...  was 8-for-12 in stolen-base attempts, with a pair of stolen bases in just his second game as a Gov, at Birmingham-Southern, Feb. 19.

Played outfield for head coach Lane McCarter...  batted .378 as a senior...  ranked 10th in Tennessee with team-best 30 stolen bases...  led team in HRs (8), RBI (40) and slugging percentage (.731)...  2004 Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association (TBCA) Class AAA All-State selection...  named to All-District 15-AAA and All-Region 8 squads...  Memphis Commercial Appeal 2004 Best of the Preps/All-Metro Team selection...  named Tournament MVP at Riverdale High School Warriors Spring Classic after going 4-for-4 with 2 HRs and 5 RBI in championship game...  batted .310 during his junior season to lead Mustangs to the Class AAA State Baseball tournament and No. 3 ranking in the TBCA All-Class Top 10...  finished the season with 11 doubles, three home runs, 24 runs batted in and 23 stolen bases...  he also competed in the TBCA Junior’s All-Star Game and was 2-for-7 with three stolen bases.

William Archie Hogue is the son of Dave and Sheri Hogue...  born March 27, 1986...  has an older brother, Michael (23), who is an All-American (twice outdoor and once indoor) pole-vaulter at Tennessee...  majoring in general business.
