Biography
Looking ahead to 2007-08: Returns for final Govs season...could provide boost at point-guard position... could challenge for more playing time in fifth APSU season... considered capable scorer who has ability to drive to basket... also owns improving perimeter skills... solid ballhandler... good athlete with excellent quickness.
As a junior in 2006-07: Provided lift to Govs backcourt in reserve role during season's early stages...came up big at Morehead State in final three minutes of first half, scoring five points, including a three pointer...scored career-high eight points against Marian, hitting two three pointers...also played career-high 15 minutes in contest...came off bench late in first half at UT Martin and provided solid relief with bucket and an assist....however, played only twice over final 13 games...finished season averaging career-high 1.6 points, including trio of three pointers.
As a junior redshirt in 2005-06: Sat out most of season as medical redshirt after incurring fractured jaw in early December... played in five of the first six games, scoring only points (two free throws) against Rutgers.
As a sophomore in 2004-05: Knee injury slowed progress... missed season's first six games... came off injury list prior to Dec. 18 game at Memphis... played 11 games in total... played season-high seven minutes against Tennessee Tech.
As a freshman in 2003-2004: Played sparingly behind Corey Gipson and Levi Carmichael... ankle injury sidelined him during season's early stages... appeared in only 11 total games in season... first basket was a three pointer against Maryville College... matched that season-high with a bucket and a free-throw at home against Tennessee Martin... .did not play in season’s final five games.
In high school: Point guard and shooting guard for Kerry Harned at Hume-Fogg High School... averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game as senior... earned all-district, all-region and Midstate Top Seven defenders honors... following senior season, averaged 26 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game for Tennessee Thunder, which finished fifth nationally in 19-and-under AAU tournament... became first Division I signee from Hume-Fogg.
Personal: Psychology major with a minor in sociology minor... hobbies are drawing and singing... son of Lonnie and Brenda Harriford... born May 16, 1985... age 22.
