2025 | Austin Peay

  • Played in 20 games for the Govs, starting six in right field, while making 11 appearances on the mound with 15.2 innings of work and a 2-0 win-loss record.
  • Collected three hits at the plate and had a .348 on-base percentage after walking three times and being hit by pitches twice.
  • He had a three-game hit streak (March 1-25), collecting a double in each game.
  • Had a season-long outing of three innings in relief on the mound at North Alabama (April 13), striking out a season-high four batters.

2024 | Austin Peay

  • Played in 23 games, having 20 relief appearances and seeing a handful of at-bats at the plate.
  • Threw 30.0 innings in relief for the Govs, picking up a pair of saves and finishing the season with a 4-1 record.
  • Struck out 31 batters and held opponents to a .252 batting average and accumulating a 6.00 ERA.
  • Picked up the win in his second appearance of the season against Mississippi State (February 21), where he threw 3.2 innings in relief, his longest appearance of the year, striking out five and only allowing one hit in the 13-10 win.
  • Earned his second win of the season at UT Rio Grand Valley (March 1) after 2.2 innings on the mound, not allowing a run on two hits in twelve batters faced.
  • Collected his first save of the season at home against Jacksonville (April 12) with an inning of relief work where he got a strikeout, flyout, and groundout on 13 pitches in the 11-10 win to open the weekend series.
  • Came in as a defensive replacement against Alabama A&M (April 30) and went 2-for-2 with two singles and a sacrifice fly to collect a pair of RBI in the 35-1 midweek win.

Prep Career 

  • Played first base, outfield, and pitched for head coach and Austin Peay baseball alumnus Dustin Smith at Clarksville Academy.
  • Merriweather batted .337 with 31 RBI as a senior at Clarksville Academy while posting a 3-1 record with 52 strikeouts in 28.1 innings on the mound.
  • During his junior season with the Wildcats, Merriweather batted .580 (62-of-107) with 59 RBI and posted an 8-2 record with 82 strikeouts and a 1.39 ERA on the mound.
  • Merriweather was named a 2022 Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association's Mr. Baseball Award finalist.
  • A three-sport athlete at Clarksville Academy, he was named the 2022 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Award Winner for Division II, Class A.
