Biography
Looking ahead to 2007-08: Senior pivot man hopes to offer quality minutes in final season...brings great work ethic to floor... gained much strength in offseason...owns eagerness to learn game... possesses capable touch around basket... has worked hard to develop low-post game... continues to improve hook shot... also can face up and knock down mid-range jumper... runs well for big man... owns good quickness... second tallest Gov in school history behind 7-2 Eddie Perdue...
As a junior in 2006-07: Began junior season as starter, scoring three points and blocking two shots in opener at Dayton...played career-high 16 minutes...also started against Illinois, picking up four quick fouls...after playing in first four games, did not play in four of next five contests....came off bench against Middle Tennessee and delivered put-back dunk...scored three points at home against Eastern Illinois...scored career-high five points at home against Tennessee State, going perfect two-for-two from floor...didn't play in next season games before playing late in game at Air Force...finished season averaging career-best 1.3 points per game.
As a sophomore in 2005-06: appeared in more than half of Govs' games...saw eight minutes in opener at Western Kentucky...appeared in season-high 11 minutes at UT Martin...matched that figure in home game against Southeast Missouri...scored two points on five different occasions...had season-high four rebounds at Samford...had three rebounds on two other occasions...had key putback bucket at buzzer against Arkansas State.
As a freshman in 2004-05: Played in 23 games, including an OVC start at home against Tennessee Tech... scored season-high four points, hitting two of three shots, at Vanderbilt... played season-high 16 minutes at Eastern Kentucky, grabbing season-best five rebounds.
In high school: Center for Levan Parker at Central Park Christian Academy in Birmingham... averaged 15 points, 12 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in helping lead the academy to a 27-3 record... shot 54 percent from the floor and 73 percent from the free-throw line... earned NACA all-tourney award as well as team MVP honor... as junior, played behind James Long, who jumped from high school to NBA draft, as junior.
