Eryc Pittman

Eryc Pittman was the first to join Brittany Young's inaugural staff at Austin Peay as an assistant coach, May 2021.

Pittman comes to Austin Peay after spending six seasons on Rick Pietri’s staff at Jacksonville State, where he coordinated opponent scouting and recruiting, while also managing the Gamecocks’ travel and equipment needs.

While working with the perimeter players at Jacksonville State, the Gamecocks averaged 6.1 three-pointers per game. During the 2020-21 season, Jacksonville State’s First Team All-OVC selection Yamia Johnson led the OVC in three-point percentage (39.4%) and ranked second in the league – behind only Austin Peay’s Maggie Knowles – in three-pointers made per game (2.3).

Before his stint in Jacksonville, Pittman spent one season as the men’s basketball associate head coach at Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon, Georgia. In one season, Pittman helped lead the Barrons to a 14-14 mark in the regular season, which was the program’s winningest season since 2006. Pittman also helped guide Brewton-Parker back to the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament, ending the program’s three-year postseason drought.

During the 2013-14 season, Pittman served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the women’s basketball program at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina. The Crusaders went 22-9 and picked up the program’s first NCAA Division II Tournament win in 15 years when they upset Wingate in the first round of the tournament during Pittman’s season on staff.

Pittman’s first connections with the OVC dates back to his time as a graduate assistant for the men’s basketball program at Eastern Kentucky under head coach Jeff Neubauer. Pittman worked as a GA for the Colonels from 2011 to 2013 while working on his master’s degree.

Before moving into the coaching profession, Pittman and a longtime personal friend co-founded Ladies First, a non-profit organization in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Ladies First is one of Ohio’s premier girl’s youth basketball programs and helps young ladies excel both in the classroom and on the court.

Pittman graduated from Hampton University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. In 2012, he earned a M.S. in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky.
