Nieja Crawford

After four years as a player on the Austin Peay women’s basketball team, Nieja Crawford joins the coaching staff as a graduate assistant in 2020.

A four-year contributor for the Governors, Crawford averaged 15.3 minutes, 4.7 points, and 3.2 rebounds per game in her career. Playing for coach David Midlick all four years of her career, Crawford appeared in 94 games and made 19 starts. During her junior season, Crawford scored a career-high 19 points when the Govs hosted Belmont at the Dunn Center. During her senior campaign, Crawford led fourth-quarter comeback wins in back-to-back games against Florida International and Illinois State, posting her two best single-game scoring outputs of the season with 13 and 14 points, respectively.

A Forest Park, Georgia native, Crawford graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health and Human Performance with an Applied Exercise Science concentration and is now working toward a Master’s of Science in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Performance Enhancement and Coaching.
