Tessah Holt became a member of head coach David Midlick’s first coaching staff, June 1, 2015.
A standout guard as a collegiate player, Holt will coach Austin Peay’s point guards. In addition, she will coordinate team travel and assist with recruiting
Holt, a Fayetteville, Georgia, native, completed her master’s degree at West Florida and was the women’s basketball graduate assistant in 2014-15. She helped the Argonauts post a 20-9 record last season and reach the Division II South Region semifinal.
Holt transferred to West Florida as a fifth-year transfer and was a member of the program’s 2013-14 Gulf South Conference Tournament Championship squad. Holt averaged 12.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.7 steals per game in her final season and earned first-team all-conference honors.
“I first met Tessah when she was a player at West Florida,” said Midlick. “Her competitiveness and composure on the court impressed me. Having spoken with her and Stephanie (Lawrence Yelton, UWF head coach), I am looking forward to having her on the staff and believe she will put our players and team first. Tessah is knowledgeable about point guard play and knows the Atlanta area for recruiting.”
Holt began her collegiate career at Florida in 2009-10 and played 29 games as a freshman for former Austin Peay assistant coach Amanda Butler. She then transferred to Boston College and played in both the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons after sitting one season due transfer rules. Holt started all 29 games of her final season at Chestnut Hill and led the team with 3.1 assists per game and was third on the team with 1.3 steals per game.
