2009-10 (Redshirt Freshman)
Redshirt freshman has struggled finding her point-guard niche in 2009-10 after sitting out 2008-09 as medical redshirt following surgery-necessitating knee injury… started seven times during season before finally settling into reserve role late in campaign… played in 24 games, averaging 1.8 points per game… opened season coming off bench before gaining a start against Vanderbilt, Nov. 27… played 34 minutes in contest, scoring five points, but also committed 10 turnovers… started next day against Northwestern State before serving as reserve the next month… came off bench against Eastern Kentucky, Jan. 4, and helped get Lady Govs to overtime with strong play on both ends of court, including two steals… moved back into starting lineup over next five games… scored 10 points total in those outings… eased back into reserve role, Jan. 28, and maintained that status throughout season’s remainder… played 10 minutes against UT Martin, Feb. 4, and scored career-high 10 points, going 5-of-6 from floor as Lady Govs’ rally came up short… played in five of the final six regular-season games… did not make appearance during OVC tourney action.

2008-09 (Freshman Redshirt)
Smith missed the 2008-09 campaign due to a knee injury suffered during preseason practice… she received a redshirt and has four years of eligibility remaining.

PREP CAREER
At Cypress Lake High School under head coach Andy Baker, Smith averaged 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game as a senior… was an honorable mention all-state selection by the Florida Sports Writers Association… she was ranked among the top 20 Florida prospects by Breakdown Magazine… averaged 14.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game as a junior… was a Fort Myers News-Press All-Area selection… was conference “Player of the Year” and a South Florida Association of Basketball Coaches First-Team selection as a junior.
