Career Recap: Austin Peay

2021-22 (Senior Season)
A First Team All-OVC selection, she was one of three Governors to play in all 33 games – matching the program record for games played in a single season –  while making just one start and averaging 24.9 minutes per contest… scored in double figures in 16-straight games to start the season and her Austin Peay career, marking the longest streak by a Gov since Tearra Banks did it in 21-straight games from Nov. 27, 2016 to Feb. 18, 2017… made her lone start in the season opener at Evansville, Nov. 9, and led the Govs in scoring for the first of a team-best 15 games with 14 points in her Austin Peay debut… posted her first of a team-leading seven 20-point games when she dropped 23 points against Davidson, Nov. 26, at the FAU Thanksgiving Tourney… recorded 17 points and six rebounds at UNC Asheville, Dec. 16, and 25 points, nine rebounds, a season-high two blocked shots at Gardner-Webb, Dec. 18, to earn her first-career OVC Player of the Week honors, Dec. 21… her nine rebounds at Gardner-Webb marked one of the six times she would lead the Govs on the glass this season… posted a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double at Belmont, Jan. 13, knocking down a career-best 11 free throws on a career-high 13 attempts… connected on a trio of three-pointers in back-to-back games en route to 26 points against Eastern Illinois, Jan. 15, and 19 points against SIUE, Jan. 17… scored 22 points to help the Governors beat Belmont, Jan. 27, for their first win in the series since 2015…posted her fifth-career double-double with 17 points and a season-high 11 rebounds at Morehead State, Feb. 5… posted back-to-back 20-point outings to close the season with 20 points at SIUE, Feb. 24, and 26 points at Eastern Illinois, Feb. 26… led the way with 17 points in an OVC Tournament quarterfinal tilt with Tennessee State, March 3… scored in double-figures in all three games of the Women’s Basketball Invitational, posting 17 points in the opener against Saint Mary’s, March 18, and 10 points in the finale against Davidson, March 20… connected on a season-best five three-pointers and poured in a season-high 29 points – the best single-game scoring output by a Gov during the 2021-22 season – in a WBI win against Furman, March 19… led the Governors and ranked fourth in the OVC in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game… posted the 12th-best single-season scoring total in Austin Peay history with 499 points… shot 42.7 percent from three-point range which led the OVC, was the fourth-best single-season mark in program history, and was the best single-season mark in a senior season in APSU history… ranked 13th in the OVC in field-goal percentage (.460) and sixth in free-throw percentage (.801)… also averaged 4.7 rebounds per game.

Career Recap: Jacksonville State
A 2020-21 First Team All-OVC selection at Jacksonville State… averaged 14.9 points per game in her junior season, which led the Gamecocks and ranked fourth in the OVC… shot 42.5 percent from the floor – good for sixth-best in the OVC – in her final season at JSU… led the OVC in three-point percentage (39.4%) and ranked second behind Austin Peay’s Maggie Knowles in three-pointers made per game (2.3) during the 2020-21 season… scored a season-high 29 points and matched her career-high with seven made three-pointers against Tennessee State (1/14/21) in her junior campaign… drilled a career-high seven three-pointers and scored a career-high 32 points as a sophomore at UT Martin (2/8/20)… averaged 10.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.5 made three-pointers per game, while shooting 37.7 percent from the floor and 33.2 percent from behind the arc during her Jacksonville State career.  

Career Recap: White Knoll HS
Began her prep career at Saulda High School, before transferring to Gray Collegiate Academy for her junior season and White Knoll High School for her senior season… was a South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association Class 2A All-State selection at Gray Collegiate in 2016-17 and a Class 5A All-State Selection at White Knoll in 2017-18… averaged 25 points and 11 rebounds per game for the Timberwolves in her senior season… also excelled in volleyball and soccer during her prep career.

Personal
Daughter of the late Thomas Johnson and Sonya Johnson and Carl Palmore… has three siblings, Sanaa Johnson, Devin Pugh, and Bias Johnson… born February 28… plans to major in Exercise Science.
